1st: most thing the i have gotten asked is when im sitting at a stop light is
Them "Spin em" or "Light em up"
My usual answer is
Me "LOL!!! Don't have money for tires or the ticket" ($263, i found out)
and then just shift under 1500 rmps, as im driving away hear faint Awwwwww's

2nd: most question i get when im outside the car is
Them "Is it carb?"
Me "NO lol"
Them "Junk"
and after that they ask if it is a 350???
Me "no its a 305"
"Junk!" then they stop asking questions and walk away

3rd: how much did u pay???
$500
Them "Wait what??"

 

I would smack them silly for that. Even if I see a total r!cer, altezza tail lights, Walmart hubcaps, airplane wing, I won't tell them it's junk. There's always someone out there that will have a better car than you (Them in this case), because it's a matter of opinion.

I'd consider something like a Maserati Quattroporte S, even with their $120K+ MSRP, to be junk compared to my IROC or Mustang, because I don't like four door cars that much. But, they'd laugh at me if I told them that their $120,000+ car is junk. I think the only four door cars I'd buy would be a Volkswagen Jetta TDI diesel (for the fuel mileage, 50+) an Impreza WRX STI (only 2004-2005, the rest are horribly ugly) because of the sound of that flat four, and maybe a Dodge Charger. But hey, the Charger can easily become a coupe.

Yea kinda makes me a bit but what can u do... mostly guys in the old lifted chevy ask me that question. but most people thinks it has the TBI in the late 80's to mid 90's Chevy trucks.. then i open the hood and they ask what the heck is that... Tune Port Injection my friends

 

Actually,the most common question I get is,"Is that the factory paint"

"Nope painted three years ago for 1,000 bucks,not bad huh"

the worst is when there exhaust is perfectly even with your window.... hate getting there pipes rapped in my window when its down..... 12 inch of lift and its still gutless!!!!
oh and the other thing i get ask is if my carb is running rich.. LOL

This whole winter I have been getting alot of "where the hell is your Camaro at?" with that I of course respond "under the tarp at home" which they then say "cant even drive that piece of crap on snow??? LOL" I then say "I could but the car would get covered in salt and rust or I could wreck and die. Is that what you want? For your friend to wreck and die???" That usually shuts them up. I cant control this funky Nebraska weather, not even the weather man can predict this stuff right. But this weekend I will pul it out becuase it will get to 50+ and even 60+ and run with my windows down or maybe t-tops off! That is really warm compared to the 2 degree weather we have been having!

I have a similar reaction to mine as your 3rd one. I only payed $900 for mine.

A: "No" *then drive out of the gate with 2" to spare for both the left and right mirror*.

 

I think we all get asked what size engine it has and what year it is at one point or another, myself included. And a lot of people ask why I put so much money into a car that has been so troublesome, they don't understand the satisfaction of building a project car, or having a car that is somewhat old and rare. And usually If I tell someone what kind of car I have without them seeing it they ask me if I have t-tops, oh and people ask what kind of trans it has, pretty much the typical stuff.
I can sort of understand how iansane's car is mistaken for a vette, because its a convertible, and pretty much the same red, and has c6 rims, sort of looks like one from the side, but still.....people are pretty oblivious about these cars sometimes, mine hasn't been mistaken for something else yet, but I haven't driven it much yet(remember the bit about it being troublesome)...
Oh and of course I get the "why build a v6 car" question a lot, usually when they hear it idle or rev it suffices.

 

Funny thing is what most of the smug environmental a__hats don't realize is that it actually creates more pollution just in the manufacture of a new car, then a even a really old v8 would create if you drove it to your deathbed, let alone a decently tuned v6, and even ethanol has drawbacks, it costs more, and well, your fueling your car with food when people in the world are starving...
