The first i get asked,"Your tach only goes up to 7000rpms and redlines a 5000Rpms, thats so low." Thats mainly from my DTM and JDM Friends. Lol. I tell them i won't even need to get close to the redline to whoop there cars A$$.

 

People always read mine backwards and ask "Your car can only do 75 mph?" Then I explain to them how dumb they are and that according to the review of the car it can do 149.2 mph even though it is a 145 mph speedometer.

today i was at Bass Pro Shops outlet . as i parked a younger man gave me a compliment on my car . asked if i wanted to sell , i replied NO of course . he asked why an older person like myself did not drive a more comfortable car ? my reply "at my age i can't find any 20 yr. old girls to play with so i have a 20 yr. old car to play with" . we both got a good laugh . my 2nd wife said to me that i may get older but i will never grow up . oh well , just my own experince . cheers & good luck .

Besides the usual "what year is it" I had a guy at Dragway 42 ask me if my car had the 305 in it. I was left contemplating if he had just missed the door decals or if I need more speed mods..

I've gotten the "nice IROC" and then I tell them thanks, but it's not an IROC. I'm proud to drive a hardtop RS.

I've gotten the "wow, that car looks great for it's age!" many times at a gas station, and then they see the black interior and usually comment on that next.

and I've also recieved the "yo lil' man, wutchu wan 4 dat whip" one many an unfortunate times.. especially when I drive with my friends and their Monte Carlo's (I want one).

Yeah.. I don't ever respond to the last one, especially when called "lil' man". I'm 5'8" for God's sake.. I'm no goliath, but I'm not a midget either. -_-

 

Why'd you switch it out? I've never liked the notch back much myself, but it kind of fuels the chauvinistic exclusivity of the car. lol

I've been driven to post "not for sale" on my car. I get it all the time but the last guy pushed me over the edge, he offered me $500 for my parts car. I park in the same spot (give or take a foot) all the time so he thought its been sitting. Guess I have to start backing in.
