Smoked my tails and side markers!
4 coats of VHT on the tails and 6-8 coats of clear..
4 coats of VHT on the sides and 5 coats of clear..

i am thinking about smoking up my tail lights but not sure how things will work out with the police, since i got pulled over already for tinted windows, and my friend Tony windows are even darker than my..

Looks good, I painted mine too, I used PPG black mixed 50/50 with clear, 3 coats of that and then 3 coats of clear on top. Not the best quality pic but...

i re-did them...just didnt like the flat look from the vht
so i wet sanded them with 350 grit then 1000 grit and got em nice and smooth..shot it with another coat of vht and a can and a half of clear

Heres a shot of the taillights I did on my other car. If you can, mix black base 50/50 with clear and shoot them to the desired darkness. I did 3 coats to get them this black, then I shot 3 more coats of clear over them so I could have plently to wetsand and buff. I hit it will 1200, 2000, then 3000, followed by 3m compound and then 3m polish. With a black car, it looks just as shiny and glossy as the paint.
Did the front markers too, went 4 coats of the mix on these to cover all the orange...

Looks SWEET!!! Always wanted to see how that would look on our birds...I would take it a step further and shoot the red reflecters and clear portions on taillights.
