B&M pro ratchet stealth swap

I've seen a lot of after market shifters but I never thought anything would look good, and I've always liked the stealth, soo here it is. Fully functional hooked up reverse lights even. I have a tci constant pressure valve body and this shifter makes it like a 4 speed! Highly recommend this shifter

That shifter looks wicked nice i like it a lot. How hard of an install was it? My camaro has a mega shifter right now but i broke it so it wont go in to park and ive been looking for a good looking replacement.

Wasn't a hard swap really the hardest part was the wiring but just make a new plate out of some metal and bolt it on.. Which you probably already have a metal plate for the one you got

Re: B&M pro ratchet stealth swap

Looks nice. I'd only stay away from pistol grip myself ...( ex military police flashbacks lol)
but I'm sure most shifter ***** would work right?
other than backup lights what other wiring is involved?
And what did it cost?

Re: B&M pro ratchet stealth swap

You need to wire in neutral safety switch and the reverse lights are easy. Any ratchet shifter will work or almost any b&m shifter. Whatever the cost of the shifter is will be how much the swap is. Get the longer shifter cable the geometry with the one they send wouldn't work with mine

Re: B&M pro ratchet stealth swap

The PO of my car put a megashifter in, stripped the shift **** and superglued a hurst handle on.
It's a bitch to get out of park, and will only go into overdrive no other forward gears.
It has the red cable that looks looped around the transmission.
reverse lights never lined up so I have to figure out how to wire it to a switch.

You need a longer red cable if its not going into all the gears. Mine loops back to half way down my drive shaft. The reverse lights use the same micro switch as neutral safety switch, nothing to it.

Re: B&M pro ratchet stealth swap

I guess I need to bring this subject back to life, many people have pm'd me on how I did this. Though there is little skill required in doing this I can elaborate. You need to find a plate that strong enough to not flex when you ratchet the shifter (1/4 inch steel) and make it big enough to where you can bolt that plat in place of your old shifter. Then you need to mock up where you want your shifter to sit. Scribe a mark to now drill your shifter in place. You will also need to ream your current shifter cover to make clearance for the selected gear indicator and ream out a hole just big enough to get the pistol grip through your shifter cover. The rest is pretty self explanatory through directions of b&m.
