Are those IROC wheels on yer yellow SS the 16's or are they one of those bigger reproduction sizes? I really want the 18x8's but I hear performance wheel outlet sucks, and no place else has them. All I can find is the original 16x8's...

i don't particularly like the hood scoop, but it's still a sweet looking car. i love the yellow trim in the interior. if you have the money, i would suggest getting some 4th gen t/a seats and having them redone in black leather with yellow trim. this will probably be pretty pricey, but i think the interior would look 10 times better

The hood scoop is a tempory fix to a hood cleance problem. Next fall before repainting it I'll be adding an SS hood.

As far as the interior this winter I will be adding a 6pt, yellow and black racing seats, 5 pts, and all the gray plastic parts will be black.

The SS on the rear bumper is excellent, I didn't even notice it at first. A very nice & subtle touch. Not to crazy about the hood (not quite as subtle) but if its a temporary fix & allows you to keep driving it, works for me! I'm sure it gets some looks & will get even more w/ an SS hood. Keep up the good work!

How do you like that air cleaner? I used to run the same one, but I kept burning up the foam filters...

Prime, the ss letters in your rear bumper Did you cut them to fit or did you make them. There're a nice touch.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I really do appreciate them.

Warrior: The hood is a stock flat hood that I cut out and mounted a reproduction of a 65 Super Stock Dodge hood scoop.

johnyIROC: I like the air cleaner. I have used them off and on over the last few years and only burned one so far. When I go with the SS hood I am going to build my own custom air box to make the SS hood functional.

bradkeith: I got the SS emblems from Thirdgenparts.com. It is all three emblems made of aluminum. They are really nice suttle pices that most never do notice. They were about $20.00. I have heard rumors that they no longer make them but I not sure if they are or not.

Very sweet! I really like the interior with the yellow trim. I think when you get the SS hood it'll look awesome! Very nice.

I've seen porely done interiors before, but I must say you've done a very nice job. I am very impressed. But those fake hood scoops they are cool, but chessy at the same time. But i really like your car, I am green with envy, or should i say yellow??

:P Love that interior. You gonna take me for a ride right?

PS: I'd really like to see some closer pictures of you're interior trim accents in yellow, is this possible. This gives me some ideas. I'd like to get the same areas you've got done in billet.

un4givin89: The hood scoop is NOT fake. It is fully functional, force feeding cool air into the motor and motor compartment. I had to add the scoop to clear the engine. The hieght of the intake and carb prevented being able to close the stock hood and run an air cleaner.

Here is a couple pics I have of the interior. They are not of the highest quality and are from before I painted the area around the mega shifter.

PS. Sure I'll take you for a ride anytime. Just let me know.

How do you like the Megashifter? I'm thinking about getting one soon. I really wanted the Hurst V-Matic 2 but I don't think it will fit the console without some kind of modification.

I like it very well. This is the second one I've had in an F-body and I have one ready to go into the 84 as soon as I get a tranny in it. The prob. with the megashifter is you still have to cut the console top plate to clear the shifter and to mount the B&M top plate, but it is very easy to do and takes less than 5 min with a dremal tool.

It just looked fake cuase it looked like a piece of plastic glued on.

Whats funny is I was browsing through my Summit Racing catalog while at owrk yesterday and I was looking at that same auto shifter alot, and thinking about it before i got home and saw this post.

I think i am sold on it now after seeing it closer up in someones car. How hard was the intsallation?

I got picture of the gaague cluster there, hehe

Warrior: LOL I might be interested in selling it after I get my SS hood.
It was a total PITA to put the hood togather, the scoop was very poorly finished and took almost 4 hours of finish work to get it preped for paint.

un4givin89: Installation was pretty easy, took about three hours total. The hardest part was trimming the console top plate, but that only took about 5 min to do.

I used regular auto paint. I took the stock panels cleaned them good, applied a coat of primer, and then sprayed the yellow paint. So far I have had no probs with chipping.
The color is school bus yellow, which is close to the color of my car.

IROCThe5.7L: Thanks. Thats a very sweet IROC in your sig BTW.

I don't know what the problem could be. The 12V source and the ground, are they stand alones or do you have them bridged off another. I know from experiance that they will not work properly if they share a ground. I am running a stock O2 sensor with the gauge wired into the O2 sensor before the conector under the hood. I hope this helps.

I had the same air filter on my 302 Mustang, carburetor backfired and into the carburetor it went. That was the last one I used of that.
As far as the Megashifter, I love mine, looks great too, I have heard some people bash it, but if installed properly works great. Also I even used the stock shift cable.
This winter I'm going with the painted interior idea, looks good and is unique.

Mine is done just like your except I put the hot wire into the radio or something fuse place. I got power that way but it still doesnt work right. I put the ground right where the steering wheel bolts into the firewall and I T-taped the purple wire into the o2 wire right between the connector and the o2. So I dont know what could be wrong

i definately don't like painted interior, but i think if you don't go any further with it it looks descent. i love to see new ideas and different things so good job on it and keep it up.

by the way, did you paint your parking-brake lever or re-wrap it?

Monkie: I would be calling Autometer about it. Could be a defective gauge.

Kandied91z: I painted it, mine is just one of the plastic handles not one of the leather wraped ones.

Nice ride! I really like the painted interior, unfortunately, I think yellow is one of the few colors that would look good on interior panels so I won't be copying you! I want a Mega Shifter too! Looks good man!
