best of show win
i guess this goes here.
i won best of show at my schools car show today. it was a good time. my car is not a show car and there was definetly nicer cars there. it was voted by the students and young kids seem to like cars with drag slicks and nitrous and big heavily modified stuff over the old classics pr a gt40 kit car. the school is a trade school that has a second chance high school attatched to it.
i always wanted one of those welded together car parts trophies.

Sweet! Great Win!
These cars are starting to get more and more respect. Let's face it, for the longest time a lot of the third gen's you would see were totally Roached. Those days are gone (the 4th gens can inherit that title now) and the third gens are becoming classics. The old guys will never acknowledge that because these were new when they were in their 30's! That's just like us acknowledging the 5th gen camaro as a classic one day.. Bitter pill to swallow.
The younger crowd loves these cars. Most of my compliments come from people 20 and under. Give it a few years, but you'll see a lot more heads turning our way.

Re: best of show win
thanks yes that wpoiler changes everything. it looked like a clapped out third gen without it. atleast in my opinion i still got compiments constantly on it but i think the motor got those.
on these becoming a classic. this is 100 percent the case. i had to have mine appraised for insurance. the appraiser told me the values of these cars have hit the bottom and started back up. he said he gave me 4k more than he would have last year. the shells are not worth much still like the early 2nd gens and 1st gens but its getting there. most of my value came from the in his words "pro touring" build of my car. i can only assume that is it having a much newer drivetrain and a slew of parts off of 4th and 5th gen camaros.
and yes kids love them. after all they were built before most of them were born. to me there is no better looking camaro i was 10 when my car was built and my cousin bought a brand new 89 when i was 8 and i decided then i had to have one someday. he wrapped it around a telephone pole inside of 6 months though.
