I have to put some on the web, for now I'll just post a couple of attachments.
The side ones didn't come out quite that good, but oh well.

Looks good, I approve!

The guy who owned my car before me did the tail lights with that stuff. I will probably do the turn signals too.

What do you use to do that? Just black paint? Did you take it out of the bumper, and did you paint the back or front side of the light? I've never really understood this painting tailights thing either. But, I'm only 15 so I wasn't around 'in the good ol days'. Can someone enlighten me? I'd light to do this stuff, is it legal everywhere? Do your lights still shine through?
Yeah, that does look real good. Side markers too, however anyone ever thought about getting a set of clear ones and smoking those? The yellow always seems to show through and make the tint look muddy.

Here's a pic showing everything.
I used Nite Shade, got it from Summit, just taped the surrounding areas and sprayed. The clear side markers is a good idea, so the yellow doesn't show thru.
Yes, the light does shine thru, but like my brake lite blackouts, I believe this stuff is also illegal, but I haven't been pulled over yet for the brake lights. Probably should check local laws.

Its not black paint. Nightshade is a spray tint. Think of it as clearcoat with a tint to it. The guy who did mine did a sloppy job and got lots of runs that can be seen up close. I would redo mine if I could afford another set of tail lights (hint, hint, Blue502!
)
) John, you don't need another set of lights, yours are already ruined with the spray tint, so just redo yours. Sand the lenses with 1000 grit, then 2000 grit, and respray. Then mask off the lenses and paint the grid with Krylon semi-flat. Should be like new. If the 2000 isn't fine enough for you, you could always polish with 3M Perfect-It first, plus you could probably clearcoat over the tint before doing the grid if you want.
If after all of that you still think you need a set of taillights, we can talk at the gathering...

Rather than taping anything off or stuff like that, I just pulled the entire assemblies out. That way I could set 'em up where the stuff wouldn't run or drip and I didn't have to worry about overspray.
Mark you car is like almost a twin to mine! Other than you have the better rear wing, I don't really care for mine, but it'll be replaced when budget permits. That tint dosen't look bad on it either. Hmm got me thinkin... I'd like to see what clears look like too, must check all options of course before doing anything.

I've looked at the pics like four times and can't decide if I like it. I sure don't hate it. It looks good, but I don't know if I'd do it with my car.
