Anyone know a good way to carpet your interior yourself cheap?

I was just wondering if it would work if i just bought some grey fabric or something and changed my interior carpet my self ....how easy it would be and if anyone has done it....

Since almost all of the auto carpet kits are molded, it would be pretty difficult to make your own. It wouldn't really hold it's shape, and you'd have to find a way to hold it in place. Wear and Tear would be tough on it too unless you managed to get some REAL tough material.

Carpet kits can be had for @ $200....but if you do try to do it yourself I'd love to see the end result ;-)

I had an 87 Chrysler 5th ave I bought for a winter beater and it had silver **** carpet from the factory. It was crazy! The car was mint but you couldn't keep the carpet clean. I felt like a friggin pimp when a was driving it

The local autoparts store has rolls of interior carpet. It will hold up well if you use a set of floormats over it. Glue it with spray glue directly to your worn factory carpet. Hide the seam-line under the seats or down the center transmission hump. It is less than 10.00 a roll and 3 rolls should do it. Good Luck!!
