Car currently has Purple Heart plates. While free, I'm bored with them and prefer something that goes specifically with the car. If I were to go with "Trooper" I might plastic dip my wheels or some new wheels White. The car is white and will have black IROC-Z door decals along with 6.2L LS3 in the back bumper. There's a build thread for the car in the Camaro section.
will they even let you get TROOPER as a plate?? i'm sure here in NY they'd deny that one because it would look like you're trying to be a state trooper (police).
I'm not a fan of anything with IROC in it. Or a plate on any car that has the name of the car in it.
Don't know what LOL BUY means so that's out for me too. My rule of thumb is if you have to explain it to more than 1/3 of people then it's no good. If you meant BYE then I'd not do that either. I avoid plates that are a direct challenge to someone else to race.
Coming up with a good plate is not an easy task! I'd say BLK GLVS if it means something to you, but it won't mean anything to anybody else that reads it.
Being from Texas as well, when the State gave most of the manufacturing and administration of personalized plates over to www.myplates.com, it really pissed me off snd I let the governor know it. I won't pay $150 a year for them.
I'm lucky. The personalized plates on my Silverado I've had since 84. The personalized Aggie plates on my wife's Element she's had since 05. They both were grandfathered in at $40 additional per year.
I opted for the classic auto personalized for both of my TA Verts. Classic auto plates are still made and ordered thru the State, and are still only $40 additional a year.
Don't rush into it. Take plenty of time to come up with more options until you feel like you've hit the ONE or two. You'll know. Maybe include 87 in it.
I don't know about TX, but NV's website offers an interactive page with a simulator, where it will display your choices of the many plate styles with digit limits for each style, type your "message" on the plate, then it will tell you if it's available or not. Hours of fun!

Every plate I posted is available. I tried several others but they were taken. I wanted "Tschuss" which means "Bye" in German. It's gone!
