DON'T buy a hood from www.up22.com. i have their 2 1/4 hood. trust me on this one "you get what you pay for". due yourself a favor and get the more expensive ones. try harwood or www.usbody.com. yes they are expensive but they are great quailty.

whats wrong with up22, like u said im sure u get what u paid for, but what exactly is wrong with the one u got? i had a 4" cowl hood from Harwood and i had to do lots of modification to fit my 92' camaro. Sure the product was good but, didnt fit body as good as i though and i waisted 450.00 on it then got rid of it.

we sell fiberglass hoods etc. at my shop. You guys need to realize that a hood is not an out of the box bolt on. They need to be smoothed, sanded, painted, and trimmed to fit your car. Most of the hoods we sell have alittle extra meat to them and are trim to fit because obviously 2 cars are never the same.

Just thought i'd throw my 2 cents in.

the hood i recieved was horrible. there were really deep pits all over the place. it was supposed to come in a gellcoat but was in mostly primer. plus there was about an inch of the corner missing and some cracks in the front. now the hood looks good but it cost $300 to get it to look the way it does now. thats $300 for the hood, $300 for the body work and paint, and $80 to ship. either way you will be paying alot of money. its you call.

PS. if you get this hood make sure that you get the hood pin one. the hoods are really light. even with the latch it shook like crazy when driving. i think the hood pins hoods are cheaper anyway. if it were my choice i would go with something else.

I have a Hardwood 2 3/4 bolt on, it is a great hood. It required only minor trimming, and has an very smooth gel coat finish, and best of all it doesn't have that terrible looking ridge in the center of the hood. The ridge looked good on 69 Camaros but look out of place on our cars. I have a ASCD SS hood on my RS, and it is very high quality, but I'm not sure what their cowl hood looks like. Here's a pic of mine.

I got the 4" Harwood from Jegs, came in about 2 days which made me happy, but the quality isnt so good. I heard that about harwood, but I needed it quick and decided to try them.

It just doesnt fit as well as I think it should. When I had the car painted, I had the body shop adjust it. They did a good job, but harwood, when they cut it, it looks like they cut from the center to drivers side up too much. Then the cut from the center to passanger side down and it doesnt fit good. Its cut different then the stock hood, some parts cut too much and some parts cut too little. The sides dont fit well eather. Im just not too happy with the quality.
