Has anyone seen this?? I saw a pic today in a 3rd gen mod book. Evidently, the dash on the 84 Berlinetta was way cool. It a digital speedo, HVAC controls at you fingertips (on a pod extended from the right side of dash where cig lighter is), as well as this really futuristic (for 1984) looking radio on a base that would swivel left-right/ rotate.

Berlinetta's also often came with the console clock and I believe the overhead console.
Although many of those features looked cool, I've found the quality sucked and they broke pretty easy and were hard to fix.

That radio/dash is far-out. Cool pic. Its really neat that you didn't trash it for something newer

hey deadtrend1:
what are all those extra buttons on the console, it looks to me like there are 2 sets of power window buttons and 3 hatch release buttons, one of my buds had an 84 berlinetta, it was pretty sweet, it had the digital dash and the swivel radio and the overhead console, but i know for a fact he didnt have that many buttons on the center console.
just wondering if u have any idea what all those are for..
thanks
Matt

ive got an 84 berlinetta that stereo is horrible and its a pain in the *** to change everything for a normal cd player ...i had 2 of them i think i chucked em ..that swivel is just like the control panel underneath the center console is where the rest of that stereo is...only bonus of that center console is that its real easy to add cup holders where the stereo is

if you wanted to put a radio in, you would need to do something like this ...
I think this is from the same guy too, (john in RI), hes prolly like "dude, this kid keeps posting my pics .. lol"
Anyways, I think what he did was buy a universal braket, turn it over, and put the stereo in there.

yes - They are pics that I have posted in the past !!! The first one is the interior of My 84 berlinetta and the other one (red interior) is of a buddies Berlinetta.
The 7 Option buttons on my center console are for :
Power Windows (2)
Rear hatch
Rear Wiper
TCC Lock-up switch
Fog Lights
Rear Defroster
The Cruise button is mounted behind the radio.
There are actually 2 different stles to the Berlinetta Radio. One was installed from 1984 to 1985 and then chevy re-designed the stereo for 1986 so the buttons were easier to see at night. My radio is an 86 stlye that has a cassette door on it from an 87 Riviara. (The Riviera door has the "AUTO REVERSE" printing on it and the factory berlinetta casssette door did not.)
It's a lot easier to simply add a FM Modulated CD changer to the berlinetta sound system than to remove the factory stereo and install an aftermarket CD player !!
P.S. You can also make out the factory GM cupholders on my doors......

Why Thanx Tony !!!
By The way; The Vette Wheels arrived today,.......... I only found ONE tiny scratch after checking all the wheels. It will be awhile before I can afford 18" tires for the rear wheels - but they sure will look good on that Berlinetta !!! I Can't wait to roll the car out of the garage with these wheels & the T56 installed !!!
(It gives me goosebumps !)
