WICKED RARE Camaro tach?
I know there are the tachs in Camaro's that yellow line at 4500rpm and red line at 5000rpm. If you are lucky, you have the one that yellows at 5000 and reds at 5500. I found, a few weeks ago at the junk yard, a tach that yellows at 5500 and reds at 6000!!!! Also, the oil pressure is in incriments of 0,40,80 instead of 0,30,60. Please tell me what it is originally from, as this car was a 2.8... and (no offence to the 2.8 guys, I was there once too!) I don't think it ws stock for that car.

Congratulations! You discovered the tach that every single 2.8 camaro from 85-89 used.

hehe I use that guage face in my IROC, with the guts from a v8 tach so it reads right
if you want to use it in a V8 car you'll have to modify it so it will read the correct RPM's also may need to get a different oil pressure sender for that guage.

My oil pressure gauge quit a while back and i replaced my tach. Being a duma$$ i got one out of a v-6 car not even looking at the engine. I put it in and it would shift at like 7 grand. And to top that off i couldn't take it back. So anyone who wants this awesome "rare tach" :lala: let me know

Damn!
I figured all that out as soon as I put it in my car... the thing was so off! I feel sorta stupid here, but hey, I had a big fuel gauge in my 2.8 so give me a break!

Willie did the same as IROC Monkey. He used the v6 tach face with the V8 tach guts in order to have a stock appearing 6k rpm redline. I believe that he used the oil pressure sender from the V6 car and was able to have the proper reading.

yeah I need to get the 100psi oil sender so mine reads right
BTW, actually the part you swap on the tach is the circuit board on the back...just twist a few nuts, easy to do
