Anyone with the locking rear storage lid

Is the rear most panel that this rear storage lid locks to is it any different that one without? can anyone post a picture of their rear panel with the lid open. I want to put a lid in mine but I'm not sure if it'll work. Thanks

Let me see if I understand your canadian lingo. You have a compartment in the rear without a lid on it, and you want a pic of a locking one with the lid open? If this is right then let me know and I will get a pic of it tomorrow.

I believe he is asking if the rear panel (the one parallel to the taillights) is the same with or without a locking rear compartment. I'm not sure, but I think the difference is that the one with a locking compartment has a little bracket for the piece to lock to.

The 2 panels are different. To add the locking rear cover, you need to also replace the rear plastic. The one with the cover requires a small lip for the cover to rest on while the non covered setup is smooth.

I just picked one of the cover panels and the rear trim panel for my 87. I got lucky and found a really nice one in black to match my interior. I know of another setup in light grey I could get. If you are interested, let me know.

The only problem I can see is shipping the panel. I think it would qualify as oversize, so not sure what shipping would cost.

No thanks alloy, I've got a possible lead on locating one in the color I need. Thanks for the offer.

Actually you don't need the rear panel since the stock panel has a small lip. Unless you plan to set something extremely heavy on top of it, its not a problem.

I tryed to put a "lipless" panel on my car that has a locking panel and the panel would not close becuase of it. The top was too big

The carpet is part of the deluxe interior package. The bottom of the cover has the Bose amplifiers installed to it. Each speaker is amplified individually with the Bose setup.

I don't understand why people make statements that are so far from accurate, but are made as if they know the answer. The Bose setup became available in the 87 models and required each speaker to be individually amplified at the speaker. They were placed at the kick panels in the front and in the rear compartment (as shown) for the rears. The B-pillar speaker cavity is empty and so is the dash. Do a little research before making statements like that.

The custom cloth interior was available from 82-92.

Here's the pic of the panel you're looking for--this one goes to the locking lid.

BTW--if you have a power hatch motor in your car you have to use a panel from a car that had the motor also, or it won't fit.
