The radio i got from my father. Being daddy's little girl help. He got himself a one that plays mp3. mine doesn't have that option but i can set it up for that. But it looks nice now.

And installed bulldog alarm. Nothing to expensive but it makes a racket.
I still want to catch the little 09*$(*#$& that stole my nice jvc... sigh

I noticed your dash. What are all those little holes next to the tach and speedometer? They look like little guages. I have never seen that before. All Firebird and Trans-AM dashes I have seen are like mine. 4 large guages.

gauges

not really sure. I think my father called the dummy gauges. I know one says check engine. Cause that was on when i got her.
Oil. Tempature. Battery. i can't remember the others. I would like to have the four gauge look.

Well the base model cars (2.8s) came with idiot lights instead of guages. (option) The holes are where the idiot lights for different thing light up. There is a seatbelt light, oil, temp, battery, shift (manuel trans), choke, Check engine, UMMM not sure what else... The look bugged me and that was why I went to the custom dask blackout look for mine.

Then I added Autometer guages to supliment the idiot lights.

See I was and idiot and trusted my idiout lights and ended up with a blown head gasket and a caracked head when the car majorly overheated. Some numb nut at the dealer broke the sensor and the idiot light never came on. I had no clue till the steam started rolling. i had no clue how long the car had been running hot!

Damn, I just did this tonight too - I added an Eclipse 8 band EQ to just under my MP3 head unit. I was having a problem getting everything to fit as my HU seems to be too deep. So I ended up hacking up my brand new radio pod - I busted out the sawzall and cut out the piece shown below. Now everything fits wonderfully.

Just wait till I get my red and black seats in!

Actually I'm hoping its the grey that makes it too busy overall... the car is being converted to an all black interior...the door panels with be black with red like 3.1eyecandy's...the seat will be red and black PMDs...the cargo area...not sure if it will just be black, or if I'm going to do red and black like mine is black and grey now....Decisions,decisions...

I think most people have to cut that piece. I did and so does my friend.
I had to use a sodering iron and wire snips to cut it at the time since I was lacking in the powertools dept.

Is that a leather boot on an automatic?

Did you have to do anything special to get that to fit, it was it straightforward. I definately like that look man.

I did not have to hack my radio pod to make my head unit fit. I did run into the heating ducts but what I did was get a install kit which extended the bay a little bit. So the radio sticks out a little way. It doesn't look bad tho. I would post pics if I had a digital camera.

Metra make a couple of kits that extend the radio out for lack of depth in GM cars. I prefer the flush look that is why I pulled the radio pod out and trimmed all of the fat so to speak to get my monitor to fit right. Besides my monitor would not fit at all with a regular kit. This is a kind of bad pic but you can see it. I had to make all of my own mounts/trim rings. But if you want a deck to fit flush you can use the metra kit for a 93 F-body with a little modification.

Damn, I hate when people cut that piece out. Had to rebuild mine out of steel; couldn't find a junkyard console that had the rear radio support intact.

RamAir350, I like that changer! Reminds me of a Camaro I saw once in Popular Hot Rodding... the guy painted ghost "musical notes" along the side of the car, had a hell of a sound system, and mounted the changer in that spot.

Yeah it is an 1/8th" smoked piece of plexi cut to match the factory map pocket in my Formula. I went into detail on the changer install on another post for interior pix but if you are interested let me know I will e-mail someone detailed instructions. Thanks!
