LOOKY LOOKY what I just installed :)

It's from SR Motorsports for the Z28. I came across a 140mph speedo from a wrecked Z28 to put in my RS and decided it was time to go INDIGLO

I don't like how you can see the shift, seatbelt, etc. lights on the tach. Other than those, they look sweet.

yeah the dark spots suck but you get used to them after a while. now i'm gonna have to recalibrate the speedo because right now it reads 15mph too fast.

if it was off because of gearing, it would be off by a percentage.

im willing to bet that he had to take the needle off to put the overlay on, and he put it on 15mph off.....

If he put it on 15mph too high, it wouldn't be resting on the 0mph peg then.

when the ignition is not on the needle will rest on the little peg like it is. Once you turn on the ignition then the needle will move up a bit to 0. the reason it's off is because the original speedo is 110mph. there's some info in the other boards about calibrating it.

it reads too fast because i have 3.73's as opposed to the original 3.08 gears that came with the car. also the vss(vehicle speed sensor)still thinks i have 3.08's gears on.

Yes I believe so. From my understanding all I have to do is swap out the VSS gears and tailshaft gear with a 15tooth/45tooth one and it should correct the speedo but that's covered elsewhere in another board.ok so its just from the gears?

I switched my gears and the speedo shop said it wasnt far off and was gonna charge me alot so i left it alone. I went from 3.08 to 3.27 it been that way awhile. I was gonna put a 6 speed in later and get that dakota digital box and supposely you can fix it with that. Im not 100% sure exactly how to do it tho

I hear it's a pain in the a$$ to hook up the dakota box. There's supposedly an easier setup out there but costs more. You can find it here http://www.dragonaero.com/SpeedChangerPage.htm
