front clip

Does anybody know how to remove a front clip off a Camaro? Is it just bolted on or welded?

All this stuff unbolts, except the core support/frame horns/headlamp panel sitting on the ground in front of the car

Take care,
Matt

frame horns/ core supports

Would I be able to get new frame horns welded back on or replace it with a bolt on frame?

like this?

You mean like this?

It's not extremely difficult to do, just time consuming. If all the measurements aren't perfect, your fuxed and none of your panels are going to line up right.

What kind of project are you planning?

I`m looking into fixing my 88 camaro. It has damage to the front driver side corner. I need to at least replace the driver side frame horn and inner fender and the headlamp panel. I had a little nissan turn in front of me when I was going 60 and never really had a chance to hit the brakes. It knocked the front end about 6 in to the passenger side from the center of the wheel well forward.

Nothing a bottle of touchup paint can't fix, right?

"It knocked the front end about 6 in to the passenger side from the center of the wheel well forward."

The only thing you NEED to make sure is that the frame is straight. Most body shops have a "rack" they can put it on to verify this. If it is off, even a couple inches, prepare to pay big $$$ to have it fixed. Most shops charge at least $1600, depending on how futzed it is. Everything else can be done though. I'm just a 19 year old kid with alot of time and patience, and this is my second 3rd gen I've saved from the boneyard

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out
