Are you using the stock 5-speed console? I am, and don't have any problems...but I've got a Camaro not a Pontiac. I'll still try to get you a picture tomorrow.

Overall its a good fit, just like it would have came from the factory. I'am using a Pro 5.0 though so I'am not to sure how the stock shifter would fit but I'am sure it would be about the same.

thats looks totally normal, what shifter do you have? i have an SLP with a TNT short stick. is the manual console different in pontiacs?

the only other thing which is pretty embarassing is that perhaps i installed the short stick on the wrong side of the mounting extension of the shifter, which would move ball over to the right more.

i just want to say thanks for posting the pic's so fast! :hail:

apologizing for the stupid shifter Q (i should read more carefully) yeah i agree i think a stock shifter would probably fit the same as well. i'll give it a look tonight , i still a manual console lid , most likely check third gen resource if the local yards dont have anything.

i havent had a chance to take another look at my shifter yet, i think that short stick may be part of the problem as well.
i blew the rear gasket on my intake so i need to address that first before i go on with the console

also how did you guys get your speedo working again not only do i have a VSS code but the car is having great diffuculty holding an idle coming off a load in gear and putting it N when i have to stop, i read that the VSS plays a part in this scenario by adjusting the IAC ... is this true

i had a B&M mega shifter in there when i had a 700r4 in it so i dont have an OE park/nuetral switch, all i have is the two relays and trigger type switches supplied with shifter . any help would be appreciated

i just wanted to say i have a console out of a 93 z28 6sp, its black/charcoal it will need a new console lid as i had an accident with that... the plastic hinge was broke, and i tried to superglue it.. well the superglue literally exploded when i was using it and got all over the console lid (but the lid only).. i know this is the wrong area to sell something, but if interested make an offer its just laying in my garage

To get your speedo working again and to fix your idle problem you should get a dakota digital speedo box, here's the websight http://dakotadigital.com/Detail.cfm?...rtNumber=SGI-5

I to had a megashifter in my car once and if the guy that installed yours had all the wiring hooked up then all you do is take the reverse wires and install them to the trans, and the park/neutral wires, you just run them over to the clutch peddle switch.

i did not have any problems getting to reverse with a stock console and a 5 speed shifter plate. The shifter just barely knocked into the shifter plate, the the plate move a tiny bit and the shifter went into reverse. also look into Lou's short stick. it mounts a shorter stick to the stock shifter in a way that provides more clearance. www.afterthoughtsauto.com performance section, tranny and drivetrain acessories

I just put a 98-02 center console in my car. it was a direct bolt in except for two cuts to get the console to fit neatly under the radio pod. i love it. it looks bad *** and no more steering with my knee while drinking a beverage... 4 cup holders!

Moving to the body / interior board. The console is not a TPI part

Just wanted to let you know, that I have a 95 Formula, and the "cup holder" is pretty much useless.

(I don't know how many times I've trusted it to hold my drink, again, and had pop fly all over my dash/windshield)

same deal with camaros 93-96 consoles are junk. u want a 98-02. and still those have a tendance to not hold it well. all depends on the size of the cup.

i have a 94 Z and i luckily a med. dunkin donuts coffee fits just provided you dont do any aggressive shifting the console in my fiances 98TA is way better, i get a discount with the local salvage yards through my shop so going to a 4th console wont be an issue i just kinda wanted to keep my interior original but then again you cant say no to cup holders :hail:

so if i hook up the clutch pedal switch i wont have to manually trigger the switch to start the car.

so the VSS does help with adjusting the IAC when coming off a load.

i'll check those sites out about the speedo box.

thats the unit i would need for my car right? p# SGI-5
i hate to sound like a complete jackass but wiring has never been my strong point, so the wires running to 2nd black trigger/switch that turn on my reverse lights run those to my reverse switch on my tranny
and for the clutch pedal i'll pick a switch from the dealer(pedals came stripped from the yard) install it and do the same with other black switch/trigger

thanks
