Hey guy's, I want to know what the majority of you own, a Camaro or Firebird. I own 3 Camaro's, 1989 Iroc Z28 a 1995 V6 3800 215 hp and a 1998 Camaro Z28 LSI and was thinking of buying a 3rd gen Firebird to build drag racing.
What year of FB was the best?
What option code should I look for? Are the Option codes the same on the Camaro as they are on the FB?
Please express your views on your ride so I can decide if I want a FB or should I find me a some other car for my project?

I think a good firebird project to become a drag car would be the formula models. maybe because i have a formula
most of the rpo codes are the same for all thirdgens.

The one I was thinking of buying is a 1989 Formula with a 5.7 TPI and a TH700R4 trans. How do you tell if it is a true Formula.

I would say a Formula also (i am a lil bias
) but you get the best 3rdgen suspension stock, lighter weight and i like the looks better w/o ground effects.

Thirdgens, I think camaro's look better. 4th gens, firebird is the way to go for me.
And around here, the camaro's seem more plentiful in the boneyards

I really like the formula cowl hood, and, although just my preference, I like a lot of the firebird interior pieces
I prefer camaro's but that is because I own two of them. However if I ever got a bird it would be a late 90's with the hood bulge and no ground effects. makes the car look light and simple but packs serious heat. I love the way MdFormula350 car looks. I would love a red or black bird like that with the same ronal wheels.
I love T/A's and I like my T/A alot more than my Camaro even though it's the biggest POS on earth at this moment.
Another question about the Firebirds.
Is the Firebird T/A Trans Am what the Z28 is to Camaro?
What other models does Firebird have?
What size motors did the 3rd gen come with? Most likely the same as the Camaro. I saw a guy who had stuffed a 454ci into his '88 T/A. very snug fit.
