I thought about doing that since I rarely have more than one other person in the car, but after some thought, I nixed it because it would lose some practicality. However It would be pretty interesting to see it done.....

Practicality is great and all but how often can someone fit comfortably back there? I say go for it. I'm trying the same thing as soon as I get my roll bar installed

I had a cheapie 12" kenwood in a ported box.
For that woofer, it sounded best when it was behind the passenger seat, with the woofer pointing back.
I have a 12" Eclipse Titanium (sealed) with a Xtant 600.1 pushing it in the trunk of my beater, and it isn't as loud as that setup at all.
You might want to make/buy a box, and play around with pointing it. I had mine facing forward, sounding weak originally, until a friend of mine moved it all over, and we found that sweet spot for my car....

my friend had a wall of 4 12s in his 84 at one time. it didnt seem to loud. then he ditched that box and put a custom box with 1 15 and 2 12s in it. that was insanely loud.

here is a temporary setup of mine.....it's currently for sale for anyone on the budjet oriented lookout.
holds 3 10's and works quite well but is definately useless for passangers when in obviously.

here's what i did for mine...suprisingly, it sounds pretty good! i think i will eventually put a nice sealed box in the car though
well my main reason was to be different. i didn't care for the look of the subs in the rear as so many do and with my air ride i really don't have the room down in the well. as far as the sound it works very well, as much as the same setup did when i did have them in the well. however it takes some getting used to as your car will feel wierd as a two seater.

As for using the rear seats, I came up with a design like this... any input? The measurements are rough... VERY rough... but theoretically/on paper it should work... its flush with the top of the gas tank mound

i love the feeling of having no back seats... and driving around in rx-7s for a couple years with my buddy before having my liscence it just feels normal.... i hated hain ppl in the back of my car.... and as for the sub box... i dont care if it wont have "optimal sound" i just wanna be different and thats why it may not even be a sub box... it may just be storage... i cant wait to modify the box from that fb in arkansas .... im goin to pick it up in a few weeks when im on vacation....
