argargarh... car go boom

so i was taking a joyride in atlanta yesterday and got into some stop and go traffic and this blazer ahead of me decided it'd be lovely to slam on the brakes and let me drive up underneath him.

this was on I-75 southbound yesterday around 3:20, going about 40mph into a stopped SUV. car still runs, passenger door opens and closes, but driver door only opens half way because of the fender.

anyone think it's fixable?

Dang, that was a REALLY nice car before the BLAMMO-O'Rama !!

I'm sure it can be fixed though. I'd say that you need everything up front except for the passenger fender and passenger side headlights/turn signal.

Save yourself some money and do it yourself. Local junkyards are bound to have a few of those cars sitting in the weeds by now.

It sucks but its legal. Its an easy way to get a new car plus $10-30,000 dollars. Get on the freeway ahead of busy traffic and just lock em up.

as long as theres no fram damage all you should need is a new front clip fender and hood and you can get them used anywhere.

And I thought *I* was cynical. Ah, would that it were so easy.

I agree with the general sentiment already expressed, anything can be repaired....it's just going to take some time. Good luck!

that sucks

at least all is contained to only those 3 peices not 4

from the pic it looks like you have a cowl? and if it is it also looks as the cowl part was ripped off alittle? where it goes up high

hopefully if you did have a cowl you saved your old hood and only have to go for those 2 peices

GO to http://www.pullapart.com/ its a pull your on parts place you could fix it cheap. They have 2 yards in driving distance from atlanta.

fender 27.89
hood 27.87
bumper cover 16.72
paint ????

But get the frame checked before starting on it.

On a side note I hate atlanta traffic.

That sucks wicked bad... sorry to hear about it!

I had to stop fast once on a main road, and I got hit from behind by a girl in a Corsica. Let's just say she lost her licence, I got a new car, and I had to do no paperwork; open and shut case.

Definately fix it if the car was fine mechanically. Looks like a good week project as long as there isn't frame damage. Time to hit the part yards!
