there is no way you need a 6 inch cowl, it would look fing rediculous imo. but since that didn't answer your question may i ask what your setup is gonna be that would need a half foot of cowl hood? cus i've seen some pretty badass setups, supercharged dual carb and everything and a 3- 4 inch cowl usually does the trick

Here's one:
Don't know what the quality is but they have up to a 9" cowl.

i may be wrong but will a 6 inch induction even open up all the way? isnt that why they are lift off?

dont let anyone tell you a 6" will look horrible. i had to have one for my setup. the carb sat 1.5" above the hood and i have a 4" tall cleaner. i am also thinking of adding a small shot of nitrous later down the road with a plate system so it will be tight with a 6". i just put a scoop on and i think it looks friggin sweet.

i got it from a guy on ebay called grapeaperacing i believe. it was the best quality of scoop i have seen. just so you know, it is not a hood its a cowl scoop. it looks freaking awesome. i got the shorter one in length when i should have got the longer one but it looks sweet. all for 40$ shipped.

it does somewhat obstruct your view from the seat but not bad at all. the thing is you cant see the passenger hood in the from but you can see around it.

hate to point out the obvious, but a 6" cowl would hit the windshield before the hood opens enough to work on it.
thats why they're all lift offs.
