"paddock" carries the carpet in rolls, or already cut. the price is kinda high for the precut, but it fits about perfect.

i think its www.paddock.com.
have fun.

oooooo! if the color is in good shape and still glued, and its just getting that old long haired effect, you can get a set of hair clippers and shave them like you would get a haircut.

start out with a #7 gaurd and go shorter till it matches what you desire.
NO JOKES, this works!!!

I recovered mine for about $15.00

I went to wal-mart, got some spray-on adhesive, some glue sticks for my hot glue gun, and some fabric I liked. I removed the old fabric and traced the template, followed the procedure as found in the tech articles, bada bing bada boom, good as new, took me an hour or so.

I also went to Walmart. Fabric: 5.97sq.ft. This is more than i needed but you can't get it in smaller amounts. Also got spray glue:2.95. Sprayed the crap out of it and stuck the fabric on. Real simple. I also did my sun visors and will be doing my headliner as soon as i get more fabric.
What i used is like a felt material. Worked awesome. They had alot of colors to choose from. Also Jo-Ann fabric. I

i got new ones from hawks....they suck. they use velcro to hold them in place. the velcro that came with them fell right off the panel. so i bought real velcro brand and it would not stick and hold the panel since they are made flat. there are no hooks on them for attachement like the original.

so i will be recovering my old ones. money wasted i guess.. live and learn.

so what color is your interior and exterior?

I don't think kandied will be using wal-mart fabric and spray glue hehe.

No offense to anybody, as I'm all for it, and my headliner/sailpanels are practically non-existant, but kandied's last car was the most immaculate thirdgen I have ever, ever, ever seen. He don't mess around :hail:

p.s kandied, when you posted the pics of the beemer with a whole fiberglassed backseat with those integrated speakers, I thought that's something you'd be going for.

it is....

i haven't picked the color yet, have been working with alsa corp to try some chrome candy but it isn't coming out the way i like. i may do a similar version of my color but incorporate several candies to make it stand out a bit more.

as far as the sails i'm just curious. i've conisdered the thought of fiberglassing those as well.... not to sure, the doors and headliner as well as the inserts on the seats are alcantra though.

It's not really easy to see but I did mine in vinyl from the local fabric store. I did the piece on the door too that used to be fabric. Matches up to the seats pretty well.

I used the same haedliner material i had gotten from a upholstrey place and redid my firebirds headliner and sail panels with that, littel thicker than the original cloth over em but it looked awesome. On my camaro i had foudn some plack ones at a junkyard in perfect shape for 5 bucks and thought they looked better than grey.

Wow usa1 i think i just got an idea for what i'm doign with my door panels those look awesome man.:hail:

USA-1, do you have speakers behind the sail panels? If so I would think the vinyl would block most of the sound.

that looks like a great job you did...very very tight fit

I like it too because it doesn't have that "carpet" look to it. It's short, full of color, and to the point. I'd consider doing something like that if i could get it in ebony or graphite

Those look exactly like my door panels!!! The only difference is that I have the 91-92 style armrests. I used some white vinyl that I purchased from Jo Ann's for five bucks. It took me a little bit over an hour but was well worth the effort. Until now, I thought that I may have been the only one to ever do this. Looks great USA-1!!

Now I'm definately going to have to take new pictures of my car-I've done a lot to it since when I last potsed pics...

Thanks all. I've been crazed so it's taken a while to get back to you.

I bought the door panels from Tonyrodz. I think they were from a GTA. I just slowly peeled the fabric part off and replaced it by spraying it with 3M 90, putting the vinyl in place and tucking it in place with a screwdriver.

Yes the picture is an "in progress" picture. I was reupholstering the seats and took a picture before I got the passenger seat done.

I do have speakers behind the sail panels. I can't say I notice any real volume difference. I just recovered the old sail panels with the vinyl.

hey dave84brid i tryed the same thing u did with the tweed, but with black Vinyl. Needless to say it dint work. It would have look sweet if it did. how Pliable is the tweed is it eassy to work with. i might have to try this or just buy some new panels.

i also covered my sail panels with fabric from wal-mart and used 3m adhesive to glue them down. i was very happy with the out come.

Some of the panels were as pain around the corners (headliner for a t-top car especially) becasue the tweed is thick stuff. it just takes alot of patience and a lot of time. i have done 2 complete thirdgen interiors now and a few misc pieces i had decided i didn't like how they came out now and am still happy with it.
more pix on my webpage of the complete interior.

yea the emblem is just 1/4 aluminum with a 1/4 in threaded stud on the back to hold in place and drilled a hole in the plastic for it to sit in, and light weight velvet material from wal-mart....

I'm in the process of changing everything to black, was tan,
also getting the car painted in the spring so I won't have any good pic's to next year...... but they did look pretty sweet when they were in the car...
