Head Up Display!!
I seem to remeber going though the board a couple weeks ago and coming across somebody asking about installing a "Head Up Display" in thier 3rd generation car but, they were wondering about swapping in a factory unit which I think would be a headache waiting to happen.
Well as I was surfing the web today trying to find a decent priced "Fiberglass Heat Extractor Hood" to cut up so I can make a custom hood for my car I came across this!!!
Those of you interested check it out and tell me what you think!!

I have already contacted the sales department on the website they are on and they told me we ought to be able to wire it up in our cars also without much problem. Let me know if any of you are gonna give it a shot!!!

I really don't think it would be that hard to hide in the dash but, I'd try cutting up an old dash pad first. I say this for two reasons one is our dash pads crack real easy and are ard to find and the second being there's a metal plate under the padding on or dashes. It might be easy to put it in the defrost vent though.
the second one for sure... very similar to c4/c5 style. dakota digital has had one of those for quite some time. personally it would have to be integrated into the dash and flush/hidden to work well. as it sits i'd say no.
the price of the second one is outrageous though. i know having the option in several other cars it is a nice luxury but the driver is the only one whom ever sees it. too much if you ask me but i'm sure the electrical wise people could do one up for much cheaper in which it would be a very nice modificaiton.

That is certainly interesting but, personally, it would annoy the hell out of me to have that in my f.o.v. all the time.
Yup these are sick. If I had the cash I'd go for it, I'd put one in my drift car. Except I saw a different one from Japan, had more options and was not in the way as much (designed to be used out of the corner of your eye while driving really fast lol).

have had the thought of wiring up an existing GM version, yard i go to has a couple on hand, and for some reason i don't think it would be overly difficult, just a manner of wiring. the computer would have to tell the HUD unit some simple information such as RPM and MPH, which are normally the only two things i see on those cars, although some are probably more difficult, and i'm sure that our systems could relay the information, infact, knowing GM it's probably relayed in some archaic sense.
I'd have to find a wiring diagram to be for sure though, but i'd just think that using one off a GP or Cadillac would be simple enough, and definately price saving.
