The rear hatch lock cylinder is held in place with a spring clip. The plastic housing and cable just pull off, see enclosed picture.

well i got sick of it and took big screwdriver and pried on the plastc housing two flaps that go over end of the lock cylinder, well i had to pry VERY hard and pull VERy hard it finally popped off end ot the lock cylinder it was on there REALLY good it was a PITA thought for sure i was gonna bvreak it and i did bend up the hatch opening weatherstrip lip real bad, thats how well it was on there, its a ***** to rmeove these damn

what a pain

the pic above isnt same as what is in this camaro, no flat round retainer or anything remotely close to that
there juast lock cylinder and the yellow round plastic cable spool housing that snaps on end of the cylinder and the cable

thats it

thanks

No, it is the clip that is circled in the top of the picture. I just circled the word retainer at the bottom of the page. The round item you refer too is a gasket. You asked how to remove the lock cylinder and this picture shows how.

Does the hatch lock cylinder still work well? I could use some new lock cylinders I think someone tried breaking into my driver's door and now I can't get my key in it all the way. PM me

Kinda hard to want parts off of a base V6 Camaro when everything on my car is better

The lock cyls and key would be useful though.
