you know the LT was only available in 87, right? the berlinetta and the LT are two different animals. i have one of 9k or so LT thirdgens to exist. unfortunately, it's in rough enough shape for me to scrap it and start on the new rs/sc project.

this is a funny post, but I understand... I rarely see them without ground effects either, my buddy has one

everyone seems to have a 91+ RS or an iroc/z28, I think most of the sc's have been gutted for parts already or something

i thought the earlier models 82-84 came without ground effects also? ::shrug:: rare to see around here though
as for the firebird line, i see formulas more often then anything else

The burly's and SC didn't but the z-28's did. i have an 84' Z with the GFX on it. (yep i have three camaros.) The lowering visual effect is nice with the gfx kits.. but you also have to keep them that much more clean, because they like to rust underneath those things prtty good. especially if you have to drive it for a week in the winter time. But I have been looking into Custom GFX kits for my 83 burly. and then the 84 burly i will leave stock (since it just needs the front straightened and everything else is completely rebuilt already). and no reason to do anything to the 84 z.. other than find a new lower gfx part for it or get the one i have now fixed (it is cracked in the center on the fin o it sags on the bottom ortion of it.)

I've got an 85 SC and 89 Iroc. The SC doesn't have GFX. I think it looks pretty nice like that.

I'll tell you what. My thoughts exactly. I was just about to blow a load of cash on some 18" wheels and tyres, but I now may restore them to perfection and see what reaction I get.

Andy.

PS Thanks for the compliment mw66nova! Not easy to restore these cars in the UK!

Another interesting thing is if you get the bars needed to completely polish those old fashioned rims to a mirrior shine and then clear coat them.. I am working on a set of 83 Rims (the ones that came on the burlys that were ussually painted gold with several spoke like things.) I went from that gold.. to a black with polished spoke faces.. which looked rather nice.. now i am going to strip them and do a polish job on the whole wheel..

Hi Angelis83LT

I agree. In fact, you may have stolen my thunder here! I am making up some ally centre caps for these wheels and then I am going to polish them up. The stainless trim rings have already been polished, and I have the equipment to polish the rest of the wheel. I am going to have a go! Will only cost time

Post some photos will you?

Andy.
