Lost the key for one of my Lug nuts, help!?
Hi, I with my own dumbassness have lost the socket key that goes to one of my lugnuts, for security. Now, I have no idea how to get it loose. You guys know, where I can get a replacement, or do I need to get a new set, please help me out, I am lost.

as far as i know, you can either get another from a dealership or remove the current ones with a socket wedged on it and put on another set from a auto parts store (assuming you have the set with you before you take off the current ones

When I got my car, the previous owner had a set of locks and had lost the key. The local Goodyear shop charged me 10 bucks to pull them off and put a new 20 dollar set of locks on. The wheel and tire shops have special sockets with easy-out type teeth in them made to do this very thing... It didn't even take the guy 5 minutes to do it.

You can do it yourself with a hammer and a chisel.
Just angle the chisel on the lugnut edge and it will start to form a groove and eventually spin it off.
It's ******* but you don't have to buy a $300 snap-on lugnut removal kit.

My current suck temp job is @ a Goodyear. A few days ago, one of the guys had to do this. He took a socket and pounded it onto the old lock with a 5 pound sledge and impacted it off...took maybe 30 seconds per wheel.
You could also dremel the lock to fit a socket if the rim permits.

I usually use a 12pt socket that is just a hair too small and hammer it on then use the impact to remove it.

Get one of those gator grips they work real good or a air chisel but usually they will mess up your wheel also check around tire places i used 2 work at one and we had tons of wheel lock keys
I had the same problem, all the lug nuts were locked and I had no keys. I couldn't go to the dealership because I needed to change a tire to pass inspection to get it on the road. So I ended up using an easy out. I grinded it down with a bench grinder to make it fit perfect, then I heated the lug up with a torch, and used an adjustable wrench to break it off. Took a little bit of elbow grease, but wasn't too hard.
Just like Plaxhus and Zepher said.
Get yourself a variety of strong, 12-point sockets, both SAE and metric. Probably something with a guarantee like Craftsman. 6-point sockets will do you no good; you need 12-point.
Select a socket that you can almost, but not quite slide onto the locking lug nut. Hammer it onto the lug nut...........this is why you need a strong socket; a cheap one would just split open.
Attach a ratchet (and extension if necessary), and remove the nut.
After you get the thing off, you can probably clamp the nut into a bench vise........then put an extension on the socket, and rock it back and forth until it comes off. But don't be surprised if you can't get it off of the nut at all; I still have an inseparable nut/socket in my basement.
