measurement?
Could someone please measure their Camaro's hood closest to the windshield. I know it sounds foolish, but my 86Z has absolutely no gap between the fender, and the hood, yet the fenders are perfectly aligned with the door. The paint looks original (blue and rust) and in my inexperienced opinion the body doesn't look restored. I hope I made sense, and thanks in advance.

you may have to adjust it. does the hood close. is there a bigger gap on one side of the hood than the other

The gap on mine looks resonably even on both sides and front to rear, just by eyeballing the gaps.

Okay. I went back and measured like you did (I left the hood closed the first time). Came up with 62 9/16", probably hard to exactly duplicate how we are measuring, so I'd say they are the same.
How wide are the gaps on yours? What exactly do you mean by 'snug'? Is the hood rubbing on the fenders?

Hey Bruce, first of all, thanks for your effort. You are right it is impossible to get an accurate measure because I myself got several measurements until I opened the hood and stretched the tape measure from one corner to the other and settled for that one 62-5/8's. Now by snug I mean that I can't even stick a sheet of paper between the fender and the hood on either side of the hood towards the windshield side, but for some unknown reason I have a normal looking gaps up towards the nose. I guess I am going to save my pennies and take it to a body shop, but again thanks.
