fabbed up replacement panels for the rocker and door post that had rotted out
cleaned up some rust that was left over from the dipping

Wow,ok that's impressive.I've never seen anyone strip a car down to that degree and spend the kind of time and attention to fix such a tough area like that pillar area. You are doing a fantastic job. That's going to be one heck of a perfect ride by the time you are done.Keep us informed,I'm learning alot by watching your pictures.

Awesome work, I hope you enjoy doing stuff like that becuase it'd be much easier to find a better condition TA than it would be to replace an entire floorboard.

Was this 86TA a T-roof? This car must have been winter driven for the floor to be rusted out.
Always amazing to see some parts of the body like the dash panels still look brand new.

this car goes to show that miles dont always meen everything when it comes to cars.

it only has 26,000km on it. it was never winter driven . just sat in the grass for years.

i picked this car not knowing how bad it realy was. and now has turned into a "see if i can do it". building this car has been a ton of fun. it been a learning experiance every step of the way.

i always have my 89 when i want to go for a drive. so time is not realy an issue

I'm having to do the same repair on my 85 and it was a California car. It's not the salt that does this but the wet leaves falling down the inside of the fender and just sitting there at the bottom with no where to go and just rotting the crap out of everything.A lesson here boys and girls, don't let those leaves go down inside the fenders.

sorry I don't mean to hi-jack your thread, but where would be a good place for me to find a driver's side replacement floor pan?

I got a 91 camaro like that, pulled the carpet back and saw a huge hole. Sold the thing a week later. It wasnt worth my labor to fix it. but it's nice to see someone who has the time to restore a 3rd gen.
