Help me fix my stolen 3rd gen!

Hey guys my beautiful 3rd gen was stolen a few weeks ago... Luckily they found it but the interior is completely stripped...
Now the INS company is saying the car is worth 3,500 and if the estimate for redoing the interior is more than that then the car is totaled and I just get the money.
Does anyone know how much it would be to just do the bare minimum (like carpet the thing and put a shifter back in it and one seat).
Think that would be over 3,400? Just carpet one seat the center console?

If the dash is still in it I would say 1500 could build you a desent interior........with everything. If I had 3500 to spend on a interior it would be pretty badass.

Interior
4th Gen Camaro Seats
600.00
Camaro Console
70.00
New Carpet
250.00
Headliner & Speaker Panels
100.00
New Door Panels
150.00
Seat Belts
???
Steering Wheel
150.00??
Plactic Panels
300.00

Price:1480.00

Thats just trowing some prices around...........but still 3500 could trick out your interior.

If they took the dash too then use this chance and do a 4th gen swap.

I've done alot of interior swaps, and these are the prices I've seen:

New carpet is about $250-$300 for front and rear
Used about $100 a set

4th gen leather seats- $400+
4th gen cloth seats - $100-200
3rd gen cloth seat- $50-150

4th gen center console- $100
3rd gen center console-$50

All the plastics from the junkyard- $100

Good luck, and maybe put some sound deadening or rust prevention now that the carpets out?

do not let them total it keep the car and buy parts when you get the money all you need to get the car in driving condition is a drivers seat and a steering wheel well and seat belt. do you have any pictures of the car? how far away did they find the car from where it was stolen? any idea on who stole it or why they did?

Wait,
Let them total it, give you the cash, and either keep the car or offer to buy it from them. I had an RX-7 and the insurance company declared it totaled, they paid it off and I was able to keep the car. Look into it, you could do alot with that kind of cash.

Well turns out you can NOT keep your car if they consider any part of it a strip. The only way you can get it back is if you go to a public auction and bid on it and win. PLUS when they go to do an inspection they have to calculate the price to replace everything to the exact way it was. So you can't say give me an estimate on a drivers seat and some carpet.

After going through all this **** I see that Insurance companies are just a bunch of crooks. I didn't pay way over 3,400 bucks in insurance premiums to have people screw me over once it was stolen.
I could of saved the money I used on INS instead and replaced this camaro with a 5th Gen! (yes I believe their coming)

A 5th Gen huh? Well the rumor was that they will be making the Camaro and Trans Am on anniversary dates, but I dunno, they screwed up anyway replacing the Friebirds with the f-ed up version of a GTO, Rumor has it now they won't be doing the anniversary date productions anymore.

Wow that's the first time I've ever heard an Insturance company Not let the owner buy the car back after paying out the claim. My uncle totalled his 97 GTP out last week and his let him buy it back for $150. in every case I've ever seen of theft the customer is given the choice of whether he wants the car back or not. And secondly Unless the insurance company used the dealer to replace the interior, it would be far less than the value of the car to do so. I'd contact a couple other insurnace companies and see what their policies are on this type of thing. it sounds like your Ins. Co. is trying to get paid on your car, which is exactly why alot of people no longer trust alot of insurance companies.
Don't get me wrong Insurance is a good thing for that one time your cruising along and get tagged by the guy who doesn't have any. So for the Average Joe who babies his car and never damages it it's Piece of mind that they don't have to worry if something happens. Secondly insurance is there in case something does happen late at night if your being retarded and f*** up your car and your self so you're not paying hospital bills for the rest of your life. But Now I'm just starting to rant cuz I hate it when Buisnesses try to rip off the little guy. So this has just been my $0.02.

This is why I settled for $1 under what the insurance claimed book value wasand kept my car when I got in an accident that wasn't my fault.
I'd rather go to the dentist than talk to insurance reps.

im confused,,, what do you want to do keep the car and accept allittle money to fix it or get rid of it???

if you want prices on the stuff you should go to the sponsors above for a general (kind if higher quality parts) and give those quotes to your ins guys. But if you want an affordable quick fix just go get a parts car that way you get int. parts and other stuff to use on the car and you got to find a good non running parts car for under 1000???

I dont see why the ins company would give you a hard time. My 92 RS was rear ended and pushed into another car, they said it was a total. The ins company said they would give me $4500 and take the car or let me keep it and they gave me $4300. Its in my backyard now, still very drivable and complete. I just bought a VERY nice 89 with a 2.8 that is going to get the 3.1 from the 92 if I dont decide to fix up the 92 again. No salvage title or anything.
