spinning visor pin!
anybody know how to repair the visor pins that, over time, seem to loosen and thus prevents the visor from staying put. were they just pressed it? tried epoxy...but, short of welding the pin to the mount.......

I picked up about ten at a local yard for $2.50 each. There are a few different styles so make you grab the correct ones.

If the pin, the piece that inserts into the visor, turns in its housing/hanger, tightening the visor won't help. Hit the bone yards; every thirdgen has two hangers.

Oh I get it, the other end of the visor mount. Yeah, just pick some up at the junkyard if epoxy doesn't work.

There is actually a plastic bushing that goes bad. Loosen the screw all the way and pull the visor mount from the visor, look inside the visor and there should be a plastic bushing, pull it out and replace it with something similar or grab a good set from the JY.

If the pin is loose from the housing/hanger, replacing the plastic insert will do no good. Remove the visor and try to rotate the pin with your fingers (may require a bit of jiggling). If it rotates, replace. If not, consider tightening the visor to the pin and/or replacing the insert.

I had the same problem- I just used some epoxy to glue the pin in place. Has been holding for 2 years.

thanks guys...i'm trying the epoxy! the roads here in new york are so uneven....and with my stiff suspension..the vibs are shaking the pins loose! yea, the visor to pin connection is fine...it's the pin/post to housing connection that's the prob..

I've used epoxy. I've also used a center punch to dimple the bracket enough to impinge on the pin to keep it from rotating.
