Which is better? Noisy hatch pull down or a quiet one?

I have two hatch pull downs, one is kinda noisy and the other is quiet. When I got the quiet one I put it in my car since it was quieter. Before I sell the other one, is there going to be a difference in reliability between the two (both function perfect)? I got the quiet one from a junk yard car that someone had already robbed the cluster from so I don't know how many miles were on it but the car looked to be in pretty good shape.

It depends why the motor is noisy. If it is noisy because of a bad bearing, then a quiet on eis better. If it is noisy because it is more powerfull (better brushes) then the noisy one is better. If it were me, I'd solve the dilemma by hanging onto the spare. Many of the parts are discontinued, such as the reversing switch and striker-sensing switch.

Apart from having to worry if it'll work or not because it's getting old I love it.

to add to what Lon mentioned, a noisy unit can also be from not being properly lined yo. that means the unit , hatch, or the hatch hook. after mine was set stright it got quiet. i can bearly hear it but before i made the adjutments it was rather loud.
most of the parts can be had in the bone yard but the clear plastic housing that normaly bust Lon has those and has a better built one also.
