door not lining up right

i know im kinda behind on this but last spring/summer i was having shifter cable problems with my 82 which resulted in the car poping out of park into reverse when the driverside door was open. well ittook off and caught on my engine hoist and bent the door backwards. i have sinced repaired my fender enough so i could open and shut the door without it catching and massaged the door back to where it looks "ok". well on the rear of the door it doesnt line up right the glass is about an inch from sealing. ive unbolted hinges and tried to shift door around but no dice. i need to replace that fender anyway so once it warms up i plan to pull both doors and fenders and start some body work. is it a poibility the hinges are bent? can i buy new ones? not the pins. if so ill just get another door but parts are getting hard to find around here now. anyway thanks for the help in advance. im goin to get pics now to upload btw.

Re: door not lining up right

Most likely, the body sheet metal where the hinges mount, is tweaked. Its softer & bends easier, than the thick hinges themselves.

any idea on how to fix this problem? before the doors never sagged always shut solid with no rattles and sealed up good.

I had to read that a couple of times to get it lol. More than likely the hinges are bent, do you have better piictures of where the hinges are?

Re: door not lining up right

you may have to unbolt the door and weld in the right spot to get it right again. ive done it before. its not fun, but it fixed it.
