my 89 gta has a 91-92 maro wing, and will have a cowl hood, it has stock gta wheels, currently the wheels are gold, but I'm not at all against painting them
the interior is black and red.
I don't want the car to be red, burgundy, black, white, or silver. are there any colors that would look good with red?
I'm leaning toward changing the interior color so I can have more color choices for paint, but maybe theres something I haven't thought of yet. And it would be really nice to not have to replace most of the interior parts with black ones

That's exactly how I'm painting my Camaro with an all-red interior. Gunmetal gray!

This interior doesn't really give you a lot of options, you know. Either red, or the gray spectrum (anything from white to black). Orange would be a bit of a stretch, I think. You might get away with some subdued, metallic greens.

But the best choice by far is gunmetal gray.

Just a little toy, and not a firebird, but it should give you a good enough idea.

my car is white with red interior and eventually i am thinking i am going to paint the gfx red and do red stripes on the hood.
i think that would be clean looking

 

You might get some good ideas if you poke through pics of exotic cars online. You don't have to squirt it a GM color,you could do like a gray that's actually a Porche' color (using this as an example),sometimes it's good to think outside of the box to be different.

 

Don't have a red interior or pic or anything to show you, but from what I've seen on the internet and stuff, red interior goes best with a black, white, or silver/gray color. I'm sure it would look alright with other colors, but it just works perfectly with those colors IMO

 

My car isn't gunmetal. It is white with two-tone charcoal on the bottom.

 

I have been thinking outside the box... my first choice was a mopar color :P

That green will look absolutely hideous on that T/A.... I would rather keep it in the poop colored primer than have it that green. Poor car....

 

ha with a color of that green, your gonna get a LOT of haters. but some people drive purple cars so it cant be that bad (i drive a purple cobalt). but idk, i think the only colors that really look good on birds and T/A's is white, gunmetal, or black. i would love to paint my car a gunmetal color with silver GFX.

 

I know I'm going to get a lot of static from it, but I love that color :]

Even if you love the color itself, I don't think you'll liek the combination - and eventually you'll grow tired explaining it to others... and yourself, too.

In the end it's your choice, but I strongly encourage you to reconsider...

I know u ruled out black but since you asked heres my opinion... Paint her jet black, throw on some kick *** chrome rims & and sell me your GT rims for dirt cheap since you won't need them anymore!

 

ok, so you want a color other than the ones that actually go with red interior???? your stuck with red,black,silver,white,burgandy if you keep the interior red. yellow would look crazy, blue would be hiddeous, green and purple......NO WAY. so play with different shades of the logical colors, or change your interior. i think a pearl white would be hot. not done to often. i think i have seen one pearl camaro on here. and no, orange wouldn't look good either.

 

that would just hurt to look at. caution sign orange, with stop light red interior, and sky blue dash and trim pieces. oh yeah, thats pimpin

 

thanks everybody, I agree about the red looking awful with what I want. so I'm MORE than likely going to change the interior to either all black, or black and tan. Either all black if I go green or purple (mopar plum crazy of course) and either black or black and tan if I go orange or yellow.

 

that might not look bad... the only problem is, if I sold you my rims for dirt cheap... I probably wouldn't have enough money to buy a set of kick a$$ chrome rims :P unless you have a set somewhere to trade, LOL
