Is that a NACA duct?
Swap the cone filter out for a flat faced one, & you wouldn't have the "wall" of that filter in the way.

What about when it rains, wouldn't water get funneled right into your air filter?

Re: just seein if anyone likes my ram air hood
guess u dont mind a rusty/dirty engine bay. dude take a piece of metal cut it to fit the hole in the hood, take a drill bit of ur choosing and put it in a vice and drill holes in it to create a grill pattern. mold it to the hood and there u go.. u could even go all the way and put a neon behind it and have it light up (at shows not going down the road like i did when i forgot i had my underbodys on) ps. if u do this with the neon. mount a lil light inside that comes on when the light in the hood is on so that u will know if its on or off.. but i kinda like it.. gatta see pic of whole car to make up my mind.. or at least the front end

Looks good, but also shows how our engines are offset from center.
You gonna put some kinda mesh grill in there?

Re: just seein if anyone likes my ram air hood
A grille in there would hide the off center engine.
Or maybe....Built your own filter housing that sets the filter end, centered with the hood scoop? That would be trick, but also look odd when the hood is open, damnit.....
It's a lose-lose, other than putting a grill in there.
