Re: BODY WORK HELP PLEASE

whoever tryed to do that.....completely failed. I would just get a new hood man.....what kind of scoop is it? SS? If so, just get the hood..you'll have alot fewer headaches

Re: BODY WORK HELP PLEASE

the hood can be fixed, and you need to:
  • sand it down with 220
  • use glazing putty to fix imperfection
  • Sand with 220 (forgot to mention it)
  • epoxy primer (1-2) coats
  • high build primer 3 coats
  • block sand it with 600
  • base / clear

Re: BODY WORK HELP PLEASE

yes you do them in order. buy glazing putty and sand paper from Autobody supply such as, Sherwin Williams. They are usually listed in yellow pages under "Automobile Body Shop Equipment Supplies"

Re: BODY WORK HELP PLEASE

Ok so i would first have to sand down all the bumps down then put the glazing putty until it looks perfect then sand it with the 600 right. Also in the last picture it is from my spoiler is there any way i could fix that

Re: BODY WORK HELP PLEASE

try to keep the thickness of glazing putty to minimal (Do not exceed 1/8"). sand it with 220, and then epoxy, high build, block sand 600, paint.

Re: BODY WORK HELP PLEASE

Ok is there any difference of the epoxy primer and regular primer or it would be best to use epoxy. Also by epoxy high build what you mean about that

Re: BODY WORK HELP PLEASE

Who knows what materials/products has been used on that hood. Sure...you can "try" to repair it....but if you really want that scoop on a hood..just start over. When we restore or fix cars that have been worked on previsouly....we take out all of the old material....and fix it right. Chances are....when you try to fix someones hack job....it'll end up bad in the end.......
