this is the car that my friend just gave to me a few months ago...soon after i got it i removed all the gfx and sent it to the bodyshop. i told them to take their time as im in no hurry and heres where we are at so far..... i like the hood and wanted to keep it so first they took it down to bare metal and fixed any dings or dents in it doing only metal work...no filler . i have since bought a few new or new used parts that they will need to finish the car....i got a new front bumper that is in excellent condition along with the front parking lamps...i got 2 power doors off of my friends camaro that hes junking, they are super clean with no rust or repairs, just crappy paint. and i think that is all....here are some pictures of the progress. oh and the car will be that factory lighter silver except im not doing it two tone like it was from the factory, i just want it one color.

is that a bimmer i see in the 2nd photo? Im thinking of taking my ride to the shop, but what kinda of ballpark figure we looking at for some work on the body. I want it black, but i like the white better. but black is cooler, but arctic white is clean.

 

yes thats a bmw in the background... well this guy is a friend of mine and hes doing it for 2500...he does mostly high end work jags, bently, aston martin, porsche, bmw. personally if your car is already white, i would keep it that way. i love clean cars in white. and that is one thing with my car...it would be a different color but i am not wanting to completely dissassemble it todo a complete color change. this way keeping it the same color (or close to it) things wont look strange when you open the door or the hood

 

you guys think its worth it or what?

 

as long as the body is straight I would say it is worth it to paint any third gen. as long as the rust in the rear is not too bad and your panels and bumpers are in pretty good condition I dont see a problem with spending the time and money to paint it.
