Hi yall i got some questions..I picked up another iroc but the front end needs to be painted again..i have never done body work before so i wanted to know what i will need.i know i will need sand paper and all that but will that be it just sand paper?? and does it need to be a certain kind of sand paper thanks. sorry if i sound retarted but i have never done any body work this will be my first painting project.

 

Does it just need to be sanded and painted or is there paint peeling off or dents or anything?

 

If the paint on it is is decent shape you can get away with using 400 grit sandpaper to scuff for adhesion, clean it with some wax & grease remover then paint it, if the paints not in good shape you may need to use 180 grit, then prime, then 400 grit then paint. Post some pics so we can see what you've got to work with.

 

cruz. if you havent done bodywork before that is fine but id get a friend to help whom knows the correct way of doing it as your prep work will affect the outcome of the finish during the paint process.. learning the trade is good but can be costly .. if you have certain questions i can help grew up in body shop due to it being family buisness ..

 

Well its peeling there in no cracks in it or anything it is just is loosing the paint on it.

 

post some pics close up of what is happening if not me someone can give some advice.

 

well im going to pull the front clip off of it today..but need a little guidence where do i start to get it off??

 

you gonna have to make yout own judgement call but usally start from front and work your way back and get little bags and label the bolts where they came off for each piece ...
