looks like a lot of work for a really bad looking car! why would you do that to something that looks as good as it does from the factory.

Re: idk what people are thinking??
If you think about it he was probably thinking about reducing weight (probably dropped 400 pounds). But still that is stupid!!! If that is a real IROC that is even worse!! I mean when you think about it it was the first year of IROCs.
Re: idk what people are thinking??
Somebody needs to go check that car out. I believe that's a photoshop job. The amount of work required to do that for real would be insane and I doubt if it's real.

Re: idk what people are thinking??
It's gotta be a photoshop.
If not, then... wow... that's a lot of work, and appears to be a good job. If someone is close enough you should go check it out. Take pictures of everywhere: door panels, console, underneath. I'd be interested in seeing good pictures of the car.
If it's real, that's a shame. Interesting, but a shame.

I wonder how they sectioned it. I wouldn't want to be the one to crashtest his workmanship. That thing could just break in half.

Well when I look at this a couple things bother me. If you look at the first and second picture they were obviously taken at different times in the day if you look at the shadow in the first picture it looks like the shadow ends or begins at about 6 inches behind the rear wheel, but if you look at the second picture you can tell the sun is much higher up in the sky since the shadow is much further away from the wheel, it could have been that he did take the pictures at different times of the day but at least anytime I have photographed my car it takes me 45 minutes max and the shadows don't change that much and it looks to me to be about a 3-4 hour difference here. Also when I look at the grass that is visible from looking inside the car (interior compartment) to outside the car in the first and fourth picture, the grass looks different there than any where else, but it may not mean a whole lot since the grass looks different from the left to the right side of the picture. Also when I look at the transition from the car to the grass and if you look from inside the interior compartment to the grass it looks a lot sharper or defined than the transition from the hood to the grass (and anyone that has ever messed around with photoshop knows how hard this is to duplicate), now that also doesn't necessarily mean it was photoshoped either. Also why were the photos only taken of the passenger side of the car? May not mean much but who knows, the background may have been a lot easier to photoshop from this side.
However there are many consistancys in these photos that make me think these are actual photographs. First off I initially thought the first and fourth pic were the same pic and they just zoomed in on the fourth pic but if you look you can tell that is 2 different photos if you look at the trees in the background also you can see his reflection in the fourth pic but not the first one and why would you go through the same amount of work for basically the same pic. If you look at the reflection on the door in the fourth picture it looks pretty consistent as to where the trees all line up. Also it looks like the treeline is pretty consistent in the first and fourth pic. Also I see it looks like the IROC sticker especially the I seems pretty consistent with where the door handle lines up on all the pics which I would think would be very hard to make 4 pictures at different angles all look the same. Also you can see the front seats are not visible in the first and fourth pic but if you look at the 2nd pic it looks as if the headrest is only about 6" to 12" away from the rear seat back and nothing on the interior seems to be photoshoped to me. Also if you look at the 2 trees close to eachother in the first and fourth pic in the background the distance seems pretty consistent too and if you look at where the car would have been "chopped" those trees land in a different place.
Now I see a lot more consistencys than disputes but the main reason I question this is why would you do it? '87IROCZOWNER69 pointed out that maybe it was for weight savings but if that were a concern wouldn't you strip the interior and other parts before going through all this work? Think about all that was modified here; T-bar, doors, floor pans and rocker panels also you can see the car still has door panels in it which would also have to be modified or chopped. Either way someone has spent a lot of time on this car because if it's true photos or if it was photoshopped they did a damn good job and someone has a lot of time on their hands (even more than me
). As people have mentioned racerquinny or anyone who is close to this car should go check it out and take more pictures of it I'm sure this guy would be happy to let you look at it and if he did the work you could point him to this post and show him how many people think it's fake. Some one please call this guy. Sorry I wrote a novel for you guys to read. Last edited by hardon85; Aug 30, 2010 at 02:21 AM.
