Time for re-spray. Paint theme suggestions

My car is ready to go for a re-spray. I stripped it totally in last couple of months and now the time has come to decide what colour I'm gonna go for.

Initially I thought to go with the standard colour and theme to make the job easier, but because it's gonna be done professionally by the bodyshop I might as well go for something a bit different.

Last year the car looked like that:

This year it had stripes painted on, but the general state of paint is not good.

So the general question is: Should I stick with red/white theme or go wild?

I was thinking about leaving the car red (a bit brighter) and painting the blisters and ground effects black with big 305CI down the side of the hood.

Or maybe something along those lines (sorry about poor photoshop skills), either with or without stripes:

Any opinions welcome, good and bad.
Has any of your guys have different colour GFX than the rest of the body? How does it look?

Thanks for help

I would really keep it stock, the red is fantastic when it's flawless.

Please ditch the Stang 5.0 badge though.

Keep it red and make the hood scoops black. Honestly, stripes on third gens are just ugly to me.

I also agree, it makes it look really stupid.

Re: Time for re-spray. Paint theme suggestions

I have always liked black and red two tone. I would like to see how it would look in photoshop with the black just a few inches lower where that it will cover the hood and half of the bumper cover, just below the lights along the crease.

Keep it red and make the stripes black instead of white. Keep the wheels too.

Me too. I had chromed IROCs for a couple of seasons and I liked them, but then when I changed to Cragars I knew I made a right decision.

I'm glad you like it.

I liked the first picture the best by far. I don't like the stripes or wheels in the later pictures.

Re: Time for re-spray. Paint theme suggestions

i think it would look good in your idea if the stripes where black ,but left the white pinstripes on the out side or better yet made all the white pinstripes silver other than that i like your idea

I will definitely go for a different red. I thought more about something brighter than stock, and maybe a bit of shiny flakes

Re: Time for re-spray. Paint theme suggestions

I hate it but it's not my car. Asking what looks best gives you an idea of how much taste you have or how much you don't have. It's amazing how many people on this site, don't have good taste :P But seriously, it's your car dude. What you think looks good will differ from what others think. Do what you want.

Re: Time for re-spray. Paint theme suggestions

l like the first picture but if you keep the top red, keep the stripes, and then do the bottom black like in the pic with the white line just above the black. just my 2 cents from what ideas you have thrown around.
