help removing driver side GFX 90' RS

im trying to take my driverside gfx off and i got the 4 screws on the top off than i believe 5 or 6 more from under the car than another 2 screws behind where the rocker emblem would go. now as i try to take it off the only thing not coming off is the rear part of the gfx. feels like its on tight, but i see nothing holding it.. is there something im missing?? i dont want to rip it off and tear it up.

There is one stud on the back of the gfx. The nut is on the inside under the rear arm rest. Very hard to get to and easy to loose the nut inside the rocker. I recommend the proper wrench (10mm?) and 1/8 inch drive socket wrench with the flexible bendy extension. It wouldn't hurt to put some tar or gum in the socket so the nut wont fall in when you lift it out.

Yes
Be careful of the corners on the plastic interior. You can break them because of the way they interlock.

No, it's not fun

ya that one was hard to get to for me as well. i just took off one piece of the plastic interior then pryed the other one enough to give my hand room to work in. i barely got to it! save all the screws you take off in a sandwich baggie and label them passenger, driver, etc. thats what i am doing and believe me, it helps! i wish i would have done that with the interior!

i took off the lower part of the panel under where the speaker is, and i cant even see where to get the nut. looks like theres not much room to do anything. you wouldnt happen to have a picture of that section without the panel would you?
geez, GM likes to make things complicated

Re: help removing driver side GFX 90' RS

It's way down there. There may be some tar paper or insulation in the way but there is an access area. You probably can't get your hand all the way but You should be able to feel it with your finger tips. (add inappropriate joke here)

Earlier GFX were held on in the back by these weird plastic clips that broke real easy. The later type are probably better.

Yes.

Here's a kind of blurry picture of the hole's location, I circled it in red.
