Front runner lights???
Anyone know how to take the lense off of the front runner lights without destroying or cracking the lense to pieces? I have sanded and buffed the outside and it looks great, problem is there are bugs and dirt inside the lense outside plastic and the inside lense that deflects the light. I need to get that stuff out, any help??? Thanks

That's just it.... There's no way to get in it to get them out. I don't even know how they got inside it. Look at your lense... There is the black casing( where the bulb goes), then there is a staggered lense, followed by a flat/smooth lense. It's in between the staggered and smooth lense

I meant...Once the bulb is out, see if the vacuum can suck them out through there. I understand how the housings are built, it was just a suggestion on how to get them out without pulling the lens off.
To get the lens off, you can use a razor blade the slice the seal between the housing & lens. Just make sure you use something good to seal them back together afterwards. What that is, I don't know, but I don't think simple silicone will do it.

I will give the vacc a try first, then I'll look into some sealant before pulling them apart, just to make sure I can even get it back together
Re: Front runner lights???
I added LEDs to mine, and the only way I could get them open was to take a dremel and cut along where the lens is attached to the housing. Then I had to seal them back up again. Since none of that shows, it was no biggie.

Re: Front runner lights???
you can stick them in the oven on a low heat setting for a few minutes (dont melt them) then take a razor blade to seperate them. its common practice to open em up once you get the horrible condensation issue on them. use some good quality silicon adheasive to seal them back up.

Re: Front runner lights???
how long did you leave them in and at what temp? the heat method doesnt make them just fall apart, it just makes seperating them with a razor blade a little easier.
Re: Front runner lights???
About 200 for 15 minutes. I also tried a heat gun, and the glue still didn't give.
Have you done it with the front marker lights?
I've used this method on other lights from other cars, and the glue on the front marker lights is different compared to the ones I had success with.
