Car: 1986 camaro Sports Coupe
Engine: L31 350
Transmission: 89 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.42 gov lock
How to get into hatch without key
Had my car repaired at my school shop and the teacher took off with my keys so I can't get into my cars hatch to install my trim and stero stuff, I don't have the hatch motor cover on so how can I get into my hatch?

Axle/Gears: 9" w/4.56 & spool (4 now)

well i found my keys, they throw them under the passenger floor mat where the hump is, i have everything put back in order now, thank you lon

I know your problem is already solved, but yes you can open it for future reference. Even if all the trim is in place you can slither to the back, remove the courtesy light cover and find the square hole mentioned above and turn to the left with an appropriatly sized flat head screwdriver or whatever will work. I had to do the same thing with mine.

my car must be strange because thats all i had to do...the only tool i used was a screwdriver that i pryed the light out with and there was the square hole. just turned it to the left and the hatch opened. really!

Well, to expand the subject a bit: the key cylinder on my hatchback is very loose...does that mean anything? I was going to replace it but now you got me thinkng that its been tampered with at some point in time???
