are the door windows suposed to wobble?

when my windows are rolled down they wobble side to side loosly inside the door it's very anoying,I know the doors have been closed using the windows by people that didn't know any better("dipsh!ts" is too harsh of a word)I'm sure thats a big part of it because I remember them being tighter when I bought the car.I was told by a auto glas guy that theres nothing I can do about it,someone please tell me he was wrong.
car is an '84 TA w/power windows if that makes a difference

there's some guides inside hte door. i ithnk they're all towards the top of the door. not hard to find or adjust after you take off the door panel.

I'm at the point where I just roll the windows down(no matter how cold )every time I let some one in/out. just so there is no confusion on how to properly close a frameless window sport-coup door. Its also taught me to always open the doors for the ladies

its a little harder for me to roll mine down. i guess people just dont undertsand that just because its there doesnt mean it needs to be f**** with. one friend of mine actually had the nerve to lean on the window with the door open.

one of my friends(who was in auto-body shop in h.s. at the time)asked me why it was bad to throw the door shut by the windows! I used to hate it when people sat on the nose and bent the paint

My windows USED to rattle real bad, just like all of yours. Last week, my power window motor went bad and I had a body shop install a new window motor (bitch of a job so I paid to have it done). Well, they adjusted my windows too, and now they are tight like new, no rattles. There are about 4 different ways to adjust the windows. See a professional body shop about having the windows adjusted and it will stop rattling.

I replaced my crank windows with power windows, and now they rattle somewhat. The up and down adjustments are right, and they're straight across the top. I think what you need to adjust is the brackets at the top of the door that have the felt on them. They push outward against the side of the window, and supposedly keep it from rattling back and forth. You have to remove the door panels to get to them of course. This is what I'm going to adjust the next time I remove my door panels. I'm adding power mirrors soon, so I might as well tackle that while I'm there too!
