Its not too hard to do, but make sure that you get an overhead made for the type of roof that you have meaning t-top or non t-top. I ran into this problem - i bought one for a non t-top car and my car has t-tops. The contour of the console was incorrect so i had to scramble to find one that came out of a car with t-tops. They are very close to eachother but it will not fit correctly if you get the wrong one.
I bought mine from IrocZDave, and he sent the proper mounting screws and complete instructions on how to install it. It wasn't too bad, only took me a couple of hours to do it. The thing you have to be most careful about is that you cut the holes in your headliner properly so you don't see any of them once the console is installed. They quit putting them in at the factory after 87, but the holes for the mounting screws were still there on my 89, predrilled and everything. You'll also have to snip your original dome light wiring at the top of the windsheild and splice it into the console instead. One other thing I did to mine while I was right there was put in one of the rear view mirrors with the two map/courtesy lights. The two extra lights in the mirror really brightened up my interior when the dome light is on. It splices into the dome light wiring as well. I got the mirror off a 90 Olds Cutlass cheap at the junkyard. It's the same style, and the same dimensions as the Camaro mirror. IrocZDave also has some of those mirrors for sale the last time I checked. You can also find them on Pontiacs, Buicks, etc. Just make sure you get both sides of the plug for the mirror. One other guy I know who has a console for sale is Shawn Miller. His email addy is smiller@bmt.net. Like I said before, it's not too hard to do, and it looks killer when you get it in!

I have a 92 RS...
Very easy to do, and it looks awesome! Espescially if you can find one with the flashlight on it!
Cut two holes, screw in four screws (or custom made things that me and a buddy made...) and BAM! You're done!
Anymore questions, email me at kiztope@hotmail.com
Ive got some pics of the install and the holes to cut and such....

hell yea i would love to see a fiberglass overhead. it would be sweeeet if you could custom make it for each order.
thats sounds like a good idea, Ive got some fiberglass experience and I want an overhead console, if I get some time I might try to make one, ill let everyone know how it comes out. I was thinking the same thing about the radar detector holder, but since I don't even have one of those yet it wouldn't be of much use right now. also, any suggestions on radar detectors? price vs. performance? thanks
