What does it take to remove the nose of a '92 RS

Is there anything soecial that I need to do to get it off? Is there a special order of removing the pieces. DO I need to remove the headlight cores and the bracing that is just in front of the radiator? Anyone haveany advice for removing this? Thanks a bunch.

It kinda depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you are just trying to take the painted plastic piece of the front bumper off, then you don't need to mess with the headlight core or any of that. there should be 3-4 nuts to take off from the inside of the front fenders, and some plastic clips to pull out from underneath.

If I remember correctly, there are three bolts on the PS and DS each, that bolt to the fender. There are some hammer rivets on the bottom inside, but are easy to see. I am not sure if you have to unbolt the grill or not. Also, lift the hood, and around the top there are some small bolts that need to come off. I think that is all of the attaching things. You do not have to remover the headlight bezel (since it is behind the nose anyway). This was on an 88, but the nose was the same 85-89 (with GFX). Hope this helps.

yes u do have to remove the headlight support brace, because the nose wraps around it where it meets the fender.

No, you don't nessicairily need to take that out, but it eliminates the risk of it breaking. First take off the plastic piece surrounding the hood latch and take out the bolts that hold the nose on there. That's all on the top for now. Take off the airdam on the underside (11mm bolts I think) then undo the plastic fasteners with either 2 flat head screwdrivers, a pair of wirecutters (be careful not to cut them) or GM makes a special tool for this. Then there are four nuts on the inside of each of the fenders, i think they're 11mm also, you probably want a deep socket and a regular wrench (for the top nut) Once these are off go back up top and remove the nuts & bolts holding on the headlight bracket and pull off the whole assembly. This is best to be done with two people if you can, or lay down a blanket to prevent scratches if you can't find anyone. Good luck!

Any one who thinks that you do not have to take of the head light bar,(yes according to gm it is called a bar), obviously has never taken off the nose of a camaro. The top two bolts that hold the nose to the fender are part of the head light bar. They bolt through holes in the nose. As for the rest of the opperation, there are 4 bolts on each side of the nose inside the fenders. Three bolts that come from the ground effects and six plastic clips that are under the nose that attach the nose to the bumper. There are also 5 screws that go from the tip of the chin to some plastiic air ducting. Finally there are two bolts just to the inside of the high beams on each side of the headlight bar that hold the bar to the radiator support. And all the bolts are 10mm not 11mm.

How do you take the nose off of a 92 RS?
Welp,

First you find a junker car, cuz this procedure may leave you without one for a bit.
You take the junker (provided that it runs), and line it up perpendicular with the front end of the 'maro.
Back up about 15 feet, and the put the junker into drive.
Accelerate quickly.

upon impact, the nose should be removed!!!

lol!!
sorry nothing really helpful to say! This waws just the first mental image I got!

I have removed the nose piece without removing the headlight core or "headlight bar". Once you get everything loose, you can pull the nose piece around the bolts that stick out of the headlight core.
