fourth gen wing
does anybody have any better pictures of this wing installed on their/somebody elses car? the photos on GT Auto's website are pretty fuzzy, so it's kind of hard to see how the lines of the car and the wing go together. i just want to get a better feel of how it looks, that's all.
btw, does the wing have the third brake light?

Ask and ye shall receive... This isn't GT Auto's spoiler it's a spoiler off of a '97 TA that a friend and I put on my car.

Hey nice wing. mine is about the same but I lost that wedge light and put in a nice slimline light on the underside of the wing. I have some more good pictures and will get around to putting them on soon. Hey that hood, is that a us body hood? How did you get that to fit was it a pain in the a$#$%?
Mine should be done in the next few weeks. It looks a lot like that. I got one from us body just to see what the other hoods out there look like and I can't get it to fit right. any hints??

That wing looks sharp!! Hood looks great too!
Did you have the lower pedestals of the wing glassed in?
Now all you need is paint!
Nice car!!

GT Auto: Thanks - I thought about putting one of those long LED light strips in, but got really tired of screwing with it and said "to hell with it." Yep, that hood is a USBody Ram Air II hood - and it fit with no real problems - though it took me the better part of an afternoon to get everything settled correctly.
Tonyrodz: Thanks again!
A buddy of mine and I spent the better part of oh, about 12 hours to blend those pedestals into the hatch lid. She'll be getting a shot of Metallic Pearl White paint with pearl ghost flames eventually - after she gets out of the shop with her new 383 that is...
I've got more at my site...

scauffiel, bad a$$ car man! I love to see 3rd gens with body mods...and im tired of hearing other 3rd Gen'ers calling "different" 3rd gen's- rice or *****. any more shaving or other body mods left to do?
Well, I don't know if you've been to my site or not, but I shaved the antenna and added a frenched power antenna to the passenger B pillar (you can just barely see it in these pix). I've filled in the body seams around the air extractors, the seams at the front and rear bumpers, and the ground effect seams. I've made clear side markers to replace my stock yellow/red ones (and blended them as well) and blacked out my taillights and front turn signals. Just need to shoot her in Metallic Pearl White with Pearl ghost flames and she'll be good to go.
I've spent a large amount of money and time on her. Once I get the 383 and built tranny in there I fully expect her to get stolen.
That is just my style of luck. Guess I should really get that fuel pump kill switch installed, eh?
[As to being called "*****" - it doesn't happen too often with my car. The way I look at it is this: my car is an extension of me, therefore it will reflect me. If some people want to leave their car utterly stock and in perfect condition, fine. But that ain't me!
Too many stock looking F-Bods on the road as it is - in my opinion. That's what it's all about anyway, opinions, and you know what they say about those. It just saddens me to see posts like, "Have money, help me choose wheels to buy!" Jesus, come on, can't even pick wheels that you like? How they expect someone with utterly different tastes to help them is beyond me. Besides, are they getting new wheels because they like the way they look or to impress others? Grrr... Anyway, sorry, I tend to babble.[/RANT]

Hey scauffiel, your car is sweet. I love the hood, and spoiler. Those wheels are awesome too. Your web site is full of great info too. Keep up the good work. What color do you plan on painting it. I'm sure it will look great.

Oooohhh sorry brother... We basically just "eyeballed" it until it looked right. We used "tiger hair" fiberglass for the majority of the base, and then used bondo to "flesh" it out. I wouldn't go with just bondo alone, I think it would crack in short order...

I have an '83 TA. I need to replace the aero wing since it is cracked. I was thinking about replacing it with a 4th gen. spoiler. Did you guys buy them specially made for your 3rd gen.'s? There is a wrecked '97 Firehawk near me, with the spoiler in perfect condition. Will this fit on my car? How much should I pay the most for this? Thanks.
To get a good fit we had to cut 3/4" out of the center of the wing extend the feet to fit the deck lid and work the ears that run up the glass to fit just right. It took a week and a gallon of bondo and some fiberglass to get the prototype to fit the hatch just right.
Do you think it would be easier to have my body shop do it for me. I have some connections through my grandfather, therefor it might be a hell of a lot easier to have it done. How much do you think the maximum is that i should pay for the spoiler of the '97 Firehawk? Also, i know this is of the topic but do you think $300 for a full set of gray seats from the same firehawk is worth it? And would red on gray look good? I was originally planning on making my car red on black, but found these seats. What about having the gray seats dyed black? Thanks. And sorry for going off the topic.

Yea, My friend and i have thought about that too.. the only other idea that we've come up with is possibly getting the trunk deck lid of a ta thats been wrecked, cutting it up and kinda molding that part onto the cars origional trunk lid.. I dont know bout being able to eyeball as good as you did
may have to go with the molded look. I think if we can find a ta with the back hatch shattered we'd get the decklid for a reasonable price.-Steve

Man that is the hottest TA I have ever seen. Those rims and the spoilers plus all the little details like filling the seams and the clear parking lights just make it unique. Even though there's no paint on it yet, it still looks awesome!!!

Well, thanks brother! It's kind words like that that make all the time spent worthwhile.
