Anyone get water on pass front floor?

i have no idea where its coming from.its really wierd because i have floor mats and they arent wet just the carpet below the floor mats. i pulled the carpet up and the uderside it soaked and there is water resting on the floor pan. this is the only spot that does this, and it cant be fromt he t-tops unless water jumps when it lands. does anyone else have this problem? both of my camaros did this but i still havent figured it out yet. anyone?

Sorry to say it sounds like you have a leaky heater core. It's a problem that won't go away until you replace it.

Hey, i got the exact same problem. I assume that its leaking down a window seal. That would be my first guess anyway. The first time i saw it i thought it was the heater core too...was relieved to find it wasnt

I have two firebirds and I have the same problem with both cars. It occurs only when the car is parked and it rains for long periods of time. One of my cars I found the leak on the passenger side. The water comes in from the wiring to the power antenna behind the kick panel. This is why the top of the carpet doesn’t get wet because it is flowing under the mat and then puddles on the floor until it seeps through the carpet. I just put a bead of silicon around the edges of the wiring harness and its fine now. My other car on the other hand leaks on both sides, same situation but I can’t figure out where it’s coming from.

I had the same prob. It would go even with the hump in the floor. Mine rotted on the seam in the floor. It was coming in under the fan box in the engine compartment. I had to do some creative body work.

Just this weekend I had a similar problem. About a half gallon of water on the passerengers side floor. It wasn't antifreeze, so I knew the heater core didn't leak. I put a garden hose just above the wiper and let it flow. Sure enough it was coming in through the bulk head where the electrical harness passes through just behind the kick panel. Hope this helps.

I recently noticed water (after a few rainy days) on my drivers side floor. I crawled under the car and, sure enough, a hole had rusted through my floor pan. Check your floor pan for a hole.

I haven't done much digging on the 3rd gen, but this was a common problem on 1st gens. There was a drain hole under the cowl panel that would get clogged by leaves or debris. When it rained, the water would accumulate until it drained into the car. Check for clogged drain holes under the cowl, if there are any.

I had a leak just like yours; It was indeed from the T-tops. The water follows the T-top weatherstrip to the front windshield filler, where it drops through some faulty caulking into the plastic filler. The filler funnels it to the right-most kickpanel where it drains onto your floor.

You can easily check to see if this is the case by removing the plastic filler (one screw and two press-in interior plugs) and hosing down your T-top with a garden hose. If it's leaking, you'll see it drip near where the T-top locks into place.

I had the problem and it wasn't the t-top but the black support piece that the tops lock into. If you decide to work on the tops take that bar out while you have it apart and use an entire tube of silicone on it, it'll squish out, thats just enough...
