well, there is no cover to take off. It's just one case. get under your car and you'll see screws holding them in. there's two 10 or 11mm (i think0. take those out, take out the bulb and it should push right out.

So I'm guessing that the bulb comes out the back?
I just want to take the clear piece off to clean it

yea, twist the bulb socket until you feel it come lose and just pull it out. good idea to clean it, but make sure you let it dry completely before putting it back in. If not it will fog up.

So where underneath do I find these bolts?
At the top there is a kind of overlapping tongue device out of plastic is this used at all in the process or will the lights be unhinged from this point?
Do I have to go as far under as where the cover is under the battery?

There should be one bolt on each side of the of the case. I found that the best way to get to the bolts is to go in from the side of the car. Feel around until you can feel a plastic brace-like object (or tongue as you call it) and directly above that should be where the bolts are. Go past the brace and wrap your arm around and up and you should be able to get them. Once you get the bolts off, they should pop right out the front. I know this sounds complicated, but it really isn't. Just get underneath there and you'll figure it out. In case you haven't noticed I did this all by feel and it shouldn't be as hard as it sounds.
