Dimmer switch

The dimmer switch isn't working, I cant even hear the usual click. Is there anything I can check or do without removiing the steering wheel.

The dimmer switch is such a pain in the arsh to deal with, that I still haven't replaced mine yet.

The actual switch is way down by the floorboard on the steering column. It looks hard to get to. Maybe someone will do a tech article on it.

The switch isn't bad, its a piece in the turn signal thats broken, the actuator, dimer switch to rod,
The manual I have doesn't cover this. Can I replace it w/o removing the stearing wheel ?
The part is only $20.

I really don't think there is a way to get to the stalk inside the column without removing the steering wheel. Do you have an airbag wheel?

[I did NOT edit this message, I got it right the first time.]

I got the dealer to fax me a cut sheet on the steering columm the part thats broken is only $15.00 and goes right behind the turn switch lever and hooks to the rod. I still have no idea if it can be done without removing the steering wheel. Yes I have a air bag. the cheeeeep chiltons I have has no break down on this area of the car. has any one else had to replace this piece ???
