Just finished ordering 93 Camaro Center Console, got a question.

The guy said over the phone that the shifter plate has yellow writing on it. It's factory markings he said...and also stated that all 93's had the markings. What are the markings??? It doesn't really matter...I'll paint over it if it's ugly, but what gives?

he probably means that the marking is by the inspector or some inventory purpose on the underside. My '00 TA console doesn't have any markings.

Nope, it's a manual console. Anybody??

Somebody's got to have done a console swap with the 93-96 style. What are these mysterious markings going to be??

Better make a phone call my friend, sounds like you really want the manual and the parts dude ordered you an automatic one.As far as I know, the only "yellow part" of the console would have to be the automatic lettering on the automatic console plate.Good luck.

i had a 5-speed 95 camaro with the gear pattern on a little square in the left hand corner of the console. Shift pattern. Best I remember it was a square plate that you can probably remove.

the guy who bought this one from me made a sticker to go over it that said pontiac performance.

Thanks. That's what I thought it was. I'll let everyone know when I get it in.

Why can't you cancel the order and get the 94 Console instead? It's the same thing, but that plate has white lettering.

Well, after further inspection of my '00 TA console, the shifter plate DOES indeed have yellow writing on it. It's on the underside of the plate, not visible unless you have the plate off. I think it's the inspector's number just saying that it passed inspection.

I got the center console in...it's completely different from the 94 center console in the picture above. The cig. lighter isn't even on the console, it's in a separate piece that came attached to the console. I'm in the process of installing it and putting the cig. lighter onto the side of the console with a rubber flap to cover it. The yellow writing was mysteriously missing when I received the shifter plate. But ya know...these things were made real cheap. I already broke and fixed a rear plastic piece. I'll post pics when I get close/or finish the project. any recommendations on what material and where to get the material to make the plate that holds the window buttons and mirror controls? I'm getting good with epoxy now (thanks to fixing the stupid thing) but don't know exactly what I want to use. I was kind of thinking about using a piece of plexiglass tinted red and put a light under it that turns on with the parking lights. Or maybe just a black piece of plexi. ???? Any ideas?
